welcome along to our Mixtape Paradiso advent calender für music lovers & vinyl dreams.
First up is Christos Davidopoulos , the soul of the legendary independent Optimal record store in Munich where I bought my first TV Personalities 45  sometime in the early 80´s after a long ride with my tuned up Velo Solex,comin all the  way  from Augsburg town.
Christos is a living encyclopedia of music & subculture literature and the only collector of christmas records that I know, here in his little mixtape he showcases his love for Jamaican early soulful Reggae & Rocksteady 45s , with some late 70´s lovers thrown in for good measure.
This set was recorded at our Waxsafari spring edition record fair 3/2024 @ Perle.Munich.

It´s the third day of december...& three is the magic number, right? 
Lights, camera, action for a true DJ underground heroe, Tyrolian native DJ Enne. I met him first on some Cosmic music events back in the 80´s where he was THE man & the connection to the Italian cosmic music scene , especially to a certain Mr Beppe Loda. it´s Karmpus day in the alpine region, December the 5th. Halloween? Nope, Krampus is for real.
We continue our DJ Mixtape Paradiso advent calender with one of the finest european reissue labels for funk,soul,rare grooves, psych & jazz,  Tramp records . 21 years of Tramp means more than 100 releases done with lot´s of diggin love & passion , all properly licensed by Tobias Kirmayer himself  in a little farmer Grandma house in the small bavarian village  Fahrenzhausen, North of Munich. time is right on this cold & dark december day for a bit of slomo 90´s underground revival. Trip Hop was THE sound almost 30 years ago,championed by the likes of Massive Attack ,K&D or DJ Shadow. DJ Ruhr de Man rocks this style in his mixtape recorded  at Waxsafari ,Perle :Munich , while nowadays bands from Munich like FEH (Trikont) bring it back live.

Hip Hop  as a sample/loop based production genre in it´s early days stiil has a huge effect on crate digging and beatmaker culture. Searchin for the perfect break is still in times of drum break libraries da s**t and some might even say , that Hip Hop helped vinyl to survive. Word. Aikido master Bodo, aka Mr. Jazzhead, reduced his massive rare groove/soul/jazz collection years ago to focus on more off-the-beaten-path crate-digging genres – from funky post-punk and private press NDW to obscure '80s synth and a lot of field recordings. It’s also worth mentioning that his music collection and selections span the globe – from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, India to Madagascar, from South to North Africa, the Middle East, from the Levant to Occidentania, and even beautiful hypnotic Celtic music - he is also collecting the Sound of his hometown Munich. Deep up-lifting music can be discovered in the most remote corners of the earth.
