Luke's 1997 album „Freek Funk“, as well the releases on his own label @mote-evolver have played such an important role in all of our lives and his ability to still deliver at this level after being in the game for so long, is something that inspires us and makes us look up to him 🙏

Marcel Dettmann is a rarity in electronic music. His precocious disdain for rules has been one of the key ingredients for a decades-spanning arc that started sometime around the fall of the Berlin Wall (with early exposure to post-punk, industrial and synth pop) and continues to this day. His leitmotif is instantly recognisable, expertly layered, playfully syncopated, and though his influence is everywhere, no one quite manages to copy his pioneering sound. His formative influences surface frequently, serious atonal arrangements that follow the logic of EBM descending into a flurry of protean melodies; maybe this versatility is why, for a long time now, Dettmann’s sound has been so synonymous with a city in flux. Bassiani Podcast 130 is an excerpt from his Bassiani set back in March, and you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss this one, because there’s really no one like him.

The 126th FrenzyPodcast, and second of the ’22 Summer Series is provided by Yonti, hailing from Tel-Aviv and recently relocated in Berlin. Focusing on atmospheric raw techno and dark rolling beats, his sets are a display of momentum and tension building. Shifting from heavy cuts to funky minimalistic loops and always keeping the energy high characterize the sound of Yonti. Besides his noticeable skills as a DJ, which got him to play at many parties in - and outside of his hometown, including the infamous Snax and Klubnacht in Berghain, Yonti had a significant influence in Tel-Aviv’s techno scene as the owner of Alphabet Club and Phi Garden, that brought to the city a fresh breath of queer parties.
