◾How did you come up with your dj name: I stuck with my own name because I thought it sounded European

◾When did you start djing: ‘95

◾Favorite dj moment: here are too many to choose from. Any time I get to influence others with my music is the biggest gift of all

◾Favorite genre/subgenre to spin: Melodic House and Techno/Afro House

◾Real name: Robert Johnson

◾Current city: Asheville, NC

◾DJ collective: In Plain Sight

◾How did you come up with your name: I was always fascinated and drawn to the name Ezekiel... When I got booked for my first event and they asked what to bill me by, I told them Ezekiel without hesitation. The name means strength from God... I've always felt that music was the language of God/the universe... Whatever you may want to call it, this music has always been a very spiritual thing for me, so it's fitting the name means strength from God.

◾When did you start djing: in 1997 when I was 20, fun fact the day I got my turntables in the mail I met Lucas Ledford... He was dating a friend of mine, he ended up leaving to come play records with me. We have been playing together ever since.

◾Favorite DJ moment: I don't know that can pick one out... Every moment is special in its way

◾Favorite genre- probably deep house/deep progressive house... But I mix several genres within my sets

◾Favorite artist: don't necessarily have just one, but I listen to Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Eelke Klein, Sasha and Digweed...

◾Favorite labels: don't have one

September 2021 - Full "Harvest" Moon 

Tonight is The Full Harvest Moon. It is called the Harvest Moon because at the end of September crops that were seeded in Spring are now ready to be harvested. 

This is truly a time of transformation, and the Earth is going through a major shift as it heads into Autumn. We are also each going through a major changes in our lives as the Earth's energy projects onto us. We can utilize these moments of transformation - IN THE DANCE & THE MUSIC - to become what we feel we need to be in order to adapt and find comfort in the upheaval. Pisces will make us feel a little braver and stronger, we may find that we have the courage to do things we were afraid to do in the past. Let us not be limited by our five senses perceptions. Let us simply live, and BE EMBODIED from a place of possibility and alchemy.

Frequency Underground resident, Wilcot, out of Greenville, SC revisits us for the 44th episode of the series in what is perhaps the dubbiest journey yet! The set is incredibly vibey, with an array of emotions swelling from dynamic synths, soft pads, and an underlying groovy house feel.

FREQUENCY UNDERGROUND INTERVIEW WITH FÜLPROOF

◾Real Name: Sam Bass

◾Current city: Atlanta, GA

◾DJ Collective: Unity

◾How did you come up with your dj name: Fülproof is a name I came up with around 2007 when I was trying to come up with a name for my freelance graphic design side hustle. Obviously, it's a play on "foolproof" and the use of the umlaut over the "U" made it a bit unique in a branding sort of way. Fülproof seemed fitting since my style of graphic design tends to be very clean and simple. When it was time to pick a DJ name, it also seemed fitting since clean and simple is how I approach mixing.

◾When did you start djing: I started in 2012, but got really serious about it in 2015

◾Favorite dj moment: There's been many, but the one that stands out the most might be opening for Gai Barone back in October of 2017. Unity Events put on a great show at Wildpitch Underground and I'm thankful for the privilege of opening the night. It's an experience I will never forget!

◾Favorite genre/subgenre to spin: Deep/Organic House and Progressive House

◾Favorite artists: There are so many amazing artists and DJs out there to choose from! It's hard to pick favorites since the landscape is constantly evolving. But, from an inspirational point of view, the DJ's who inpire me the most would probably be Guy J and Jodi Wisternoff. I put Guy J on the list because he is just so damn smooth when it comes to mixing, and Jodi is on the list because he is so fearless behind the decks with song selection and mixing.

◾Favorite labels: Those are trade secrets, but the well-known ones are definitely Anjunadeep and Lost & Found ;)

◾How and when did you get into djing: Was introduced to breaks at the age of 17 and bought my first turntables at the age of 18 in 1996

◾Who are your musical influences and what is your inspiration: Influences include Tim Taste, Nora en pure, Victor Ruiz, Boring Brejcha, etc...
My inspiration always comes from a new sound or just the way a crowd reacts to a track. That makes it fun to search for some more obscure sounds, tracks and artists

◾Describe your sound as a DJ: The sound you can usually hear from my sets can be described as deep, dark and driving with alow end bounce

◾If you could play a b2b with anyone, who would it be: I would love to play a b2b set Boris Brejcha or Nora en pure

◾What does the future hold in store for you as an artist: The future is always changing and I always hope to have more events or even put together my own event or collaborate to put an event together
