Wrote this song with the fabulous Simon Smith, a man who really knows how to dress. Like him, I like to choose my attire carefully, paying particular attention to the hat. 

However, as the song suggests, one should be wary of those who pay too much attention to the way they look. So, to offset this indisputable fact, I remain in pyjamas til the clock is in double figures then I  dress 'to kill' for the rest of the day.

Finger picking. I wrote this one on uke, wearing a baby in a baby sling underneath, pacing the apartment for hours while he refused to sleep every night for a month or two. It's conceivable that the melody belongs to someone else? It seems really familiar, in that familiar accidental-purloinery way (like the time I "wrote" a song that was already a Beach Boys song, and it just sounded soooo familiar!) Oh well. At very least, it borrows heavily from elements that have existed for a long time. 

What else? Glad you asked! Micah and I have released our first EP as Letterpress Mighty. I'll tell you more about that later, because we're still in the process of releasing tracks here:

That EP is hard-won, and represents about two years of writing and recording work, through an irreparable computer crash, some broken equipment, a replacement computer and new software, three grueling semesters of school, a new house - I could keep going, but you get it. It's been hard, and it took longer than I wanted. That's partially why I'm soo excited that it's released. I'll be sharing each of those tracks to my page here as well, and I sincerely think you will enjoy it.

And as impossible as it might seem that one could discover Joy within deep sorrow, I'm persuaded that it is at least possible.

All I can say is that suddenly losing my Muse, my Best Friend and Wife is,
that I best stay with the pain, find the silver linings and celebrate her Life to the Fullest!"

Here's the result of a track I started making as a dark, brooding number at a cabin in the woods on Halloween. 

But I guess I found something warm and soothing about it, because listen to how it ended up on a breakbeat uplift tip half-a-year later eh?

Coulda been the Mat the Alien show, the jay bird on the wooden deck out front, the satisfying wave return, the pages of Dune, or months of reflection since...

You're welcome to take it and remix it. Because I'm thinking of how the song might sound in other genres myself...
