The https://soundcloud.com/electro-swing-elite, or ESE for short, launched in Summer 2013 with the first B2B DJ-mix, with another great ESE mix volume 2 following shortly after.  The concept is an entire set of electro swing tracks mixed by several internationally renowned DJ's and fused in to one set.
The success to date can be seen and heard for Phos Toni, the organizer, DJ and father of the ESE mixes. The Soundcloud plays, comments, and likes clearly speak for themselves!

The postwar Korean peninsula was a melting pot where different cultures from the East and the West intertwined. The music business grew significantly as clubs were founded around the U.S. military bases. Many musicians who played for the clubs had interpreted and localized rock, jazz, soul and boogaloo in various styles. However, such unique music was suppressed and vanished for the political interests of the military regime in the mid ‘70s. Today, the musical genres that once thrived during those periods remain discontinued and forgotten. 

DJ Soulscape, a critically acclaimed musician and an avid vinyl collector, has spearheaded the project to uncover the lost archives of Korea’s musical past. The Sound of Seoul and More Sound of Seoul compilations were conceived to revisit the Korean music of the ‘60s and ‘70s.

This week’s Free Music Monday is from South London MC Elf Kid. You may know of him as being a member of The Square,  grime crew headed up by MC and producer Novelist.  Elf Kid’s debut single ‘Golden Boy’ was my track back in December and now we have this wicked remix of Izzy Bizu’s ‘Mad Behaviour’ produced by fellow member of The Square, Lolingo and we love it..

Master violinist and guitarist, Jazzotron now unleashes the third in his unfolding 4-part EP series 'Let's Go'; As with it’s predecessor, Vol. 3 is a melting pot of innovative originals, fresh remixes and quality collaborations. It was our intention to encourage people to take another look at this under-rated talent but whereas Vol’s 1 and 2 rounded up previous releases (along with new versions), for Vol.3 all tracks are previously unreleased.

Hello again Kittiwakers and welcome to volume 2 in the free download series us nice people here at Kittiwake Records are putting out.
Volume 2 is shaping up to be something quite special so as always I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the bands involved who made this happen and a massive thank you to www.roomthirteen.com for hosting this download and their continued support.

So as a little break we decided to make Volume 2 have a real "Rock" tinge, kicking off proceedings we have the rather wonderful Drive on the Right and the unreleased track "Casualities". Although sadly no longer with us DOTR are the sorta band if I was a musician would want to be like..Enough said really!
Track 2 brings us right up to date with The Winter Tradition and the track "Send the Waves" taken from the bands superb debut album which is titled "Gradients".
Track 3 moves us along nicely to the future with Glasgow based The Iqons and the track "Let it Go!" which may or may not get the full release treatment sometime in the future, we simply don't know at this point.
