Not much was decided in advance but the BPM. It followed an organic, coherent and surprisingly decent ;) back 2 back. Love you Aaaron! This brings back lovely Summer memories.

The Sardinia based artist Ludovica Frauu created the fourth journey of our Herbarium mix series. It's all about a very fresh sounding groovy journey, an exquisit selection of gems, we are very honoured to feature this wonderful trip. Its story reveals a wide spectrum of moods which are mixed together in a beautiful way. You will stumble upon diverse textures, polyrhythmic drums patterns and interesting harmonies.

To connect the mood of the mix to the herbal concept of the series, the artist chose the plant Capparis spinosa (caper), which she is particularly fond of. Her grandparents had a large plant in their garden. They used to pick its fruit and then process it. The plant is very hardy and grows even in the city, as it is able to penetrate its roots into the interstices of stones. In fact it is considered a rebel plant, because it decides how and where to grow. The flower is beautiful and elegant and is an unharvested fruit, bloomed.
The first part of the set reminds of the flower, the second of the plant itself.

I was really lucky to be able to share a guest mix from French DJ and producer @sindh for October's Netil show :)

I've been a big fan of both of Louis' musical projects, Sindh and @9_beats, for a long time. So after finally meeting him in person this summer at Pan D'or, a small DIY festival he co-runs, nestled in a forest in Burgundy, I was so delighted he was able to contribute a mix to the show <3

A hypnotic hour of wiggy half-time dnb and glowing, droney ambient, this mix is pretty special as it's an excerpt from his set at this years' Ouroboros festival🐍

And as usual, for the first hour, I drifted though some tripped-out earthy textures🌿

Netil Radio - Faery w/ Sindh - 21.10.22

For Podcast #165, we’re thrilled to bring you the live recording of F-ON’s opening set from this year’s Paral.lel Festival. 

Paral.lel was, for us, the most nourishing of soul food. Set in the spectacular, breath-taking mountains two-hours north of Barcelona, deep green tree-covered mountains enclosed the dancefloor, an endless stretch of sky reached overhead, a beautiful sound system ensured the frequencies permeated, engulfing us in their warm embrace, and a crowd of beautiful, like-minded souls came together, surrendering to the rhythms and grooves gifted to us by an impressive line-up of talent over 2.5 days.

Magic is almost inevitable when people are united by their shared, deep devotion to music. Throw in nature in its rawest, awe-inspiring form, and of course the music itself delivered with such passion and attentiveness, and you have very raw and real energetic alignment which naturally culminates in countless memorable moments. And it was indeed a weekend of magical moments - where the shadows of clouds sweeping across a canvass of trees aligning the slopes were our only reminder that life and time moved on while we lost ourselves in the mountains.

Esteemed DJ, producer and promoter from Madrid, F-ON (aka Alfonso Pomeda) was on the festival’s opening duties on Friday afternoon, ensuring the warmest of welcomes to the Paral.lel community as they arrived on site. And indeed, his set was as warm and inviting as his smile; deep and down-tempo, with sultry grooves and long, steady, alluring mixes; frequencies gently reverberating off the mountains and trees surrounding us, reaching out and inviting us in. What better way to kick-start a very special weekend celebrating the music we love.

The 8th anniversary is not the only milestone that Harmony as a label is celebrating this year. With some glimpses and announcements shared in the past months, we are thrilled to finally showcase the first preview of the forthcoming VA named X [HARMONY010]. A compilation dedicated to day-to-night music that characterizes the main margin of our label. 

The 36-minute-long seamless mix that follows was thoroughly crafted by Alfred Czital, and contains all the material that will be released on the upcoming compilation. The aim is to introduce the piece as a whole and highlight the symbiosis among the tracks. Every member of the Harmony Rec. family made their contribution with personal style and aesthetics. The artists featured on the VA are:

@soundsfromthenightgarden is a musical project from London based James Laing, realising an imagined liminal space between our waking life and beyond.

“All of my productions and mixes are situated within this imagined space of the Night Garden. I’ve always been drawn to music which is cloaked in rich atmosphere & mystery, regardless of genre, and I think this setting suits my musical outlook perfectly. I am looking for music which is deeply psychedelic, which transports the listener and, in some instances, completely overwhelms them. This is the sort of experience I, personally, want to have on the dance floor, and my musical aim is to be able to provide that kind of experience for others. This mix, while lighter in tone, still aims to envelop the listener in a colourful and psychedelic corner of the Night Garden.”

Lucie Stepankova aka Avsluta dedicates her creative practice to free improvisation, live performance, curation and DJing. In her live performances, Lucie co-creates with objects and natural materials, field recordings, electronics and digital processing to embody speculative narratives via sound-making. The general aim is to encourage audiences to engage in listening as an active-creative practice and reconnect with and manifest emotions. Similar sentiments often flow through her diverse DJ sets oscillating between ambient and dance music.
Lucie runs Introspective Electronics, a platform exploring the vast diversity of ambient, downtempo and electronica and featuring regular radio shows and guest podcast series. Together with the London-based DJ and producer Alicia, she co-curates Terra Obscura, a quarterly event series inspired by the new generation of chill-out-tinged UK bass. In collaboration with Christian Duka and IKLECTIK, she co-organises SONIC GARDEN, a series of experimental ambient and downtempo events at IKLECTIK's Old Paradise Yard.
