VGM Academy 21 Days Challenge - My Tracks

Created for Daniel James' fortnightly stream competition. 

The track was supposed to start all action and then end on a sad/defeated note. Perhaps the most vital aspect was to make use of a certain synth(bass, sub & plucky lead).

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Day 1 of the 7 Days of VGM September challenge: Giant Robots.
This piece is supposed to be about summoning or activating a giant robot or mecha. At first I was thinking about a giant, rusted mecha reactivating and plodding towards a battlefield, but then I started to imagine the scene being almost like a religious ceremony, with the pilot's mind being uploaded into the mecha's computer. I used a Spitfire Audio choir plugin for the main motif, but with a bitcrusher FX gradually increasing and modulating the depth, to try to evoke that image of the pilot melding with the machine.

First track for VGM Academy 21 Day Challenge. I feel it is a bit sloppy sounding...gotta get better at this

Day1 - Minorytaurus

I wanted to write a driving tune...something of an 80's tune to your car with driving bass and drums. And then it didn't work. So I was like, screw it. Let's do something more simple, because you are running out of time. Here here it is a simple short melancholic piano.

Day 2 - Rainy Days In Prague

Day 3 track called Dawn. It is supposed to be a teaser trailer-like short piece when unveiling a new game.

Very short beginning of a western influenced track. I wanted to use one of my library Screaming Trumpet, which I have not used before since I won it in a giveaway. We all have those, right? Never used libraries. This need much more polish and details, but running out of time and it's 2AM anyway.

Day 4 - Colt 99

A wanted to try to write a jig for a long time. I love those songs. And how could it work in a videogamegame? Maybe as a background music in a tavern.

Day 5 - Jig Jag

So this is really embarrassing to post for me. The audio is totally horrible and as someone who likes to have his audio pristine and "perfect", or at least presentable....but my idea here was really a sketch of idea on whatever I have on hand. And that was my acoustic guitar and my android phone. So I recorded myself playing the theme I had in mind "the rough way". I hope you can still figure out what was my idea there ;)

Here's a fun little ditty! Partially inspired by Adam Neely's submission to the first 5 Composers, 1 theme video where he did a vaguely Balkan themed piece using upright bass, accordion, clarinet, and more, I've created this vaguely Gypsy piece with similar instrumentation. Hope you enjoy!
