2011 release, the long-awaited eighth album from the Hip Hop/Rock trio. Hot Sauce Committee Part Two was produced by Beastie Boys and mixed by Philippe Zdar. This album marks Mike "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "Ad Rock" Horovitz and Adam "MCA" Yauch's first full length effort since 2007's Grammy-winning all-instrumental The Mix-Up.

Venturi. C’est ainsi qu’on appelait autrefois la montagne Sainte-Victoire.
Un nom ancien, porté par le vent, qui résonne encore dans ses hauteurs. Il
évoque l’élan, la fugue, le souffle des dieux oubliés.
Jean Giono y murmure quelque part, et sa voix se mêle à cette mémoire
des chemins, des passages suspendus entre ciel et pierre, où l’on croit
s’égarer et où, pourtant, tout nous attend.

In this third episode of the series, we talk about roads. The ones we take
when we think we're leaving, the ones that secretly lead us back to
ourselves.
Venturi. That's what Mount Sainte-Victoire used to be called. An ancient
name, carried by the wind, that still resonates in its heights. It evokes the
impetus, the fugue, the breath of forgotten gods.
Jean Giono is whispering somewhere, and his voice mingles with the
memory of the paths, the passages suspended between sky and stone,
where we think we've lost our way and yet everything is waiting for us.

A couple months ago I started a project to turn my normal journaling process into a channel flipping experience! All the scratch work and raw ideas packaged together. I noticed I loved listening to all my nascent and unfinished ideas playing through my composition journals, so I decided all the new ones I would start making into a listening experience!

Same words, different world.

There was a time when the world was quiet. Or maybe it wasn’t the world—maybe it was just me. I remember the silence, the kind that wasn’t empty but full, the kind that settled softly like dusk over a slow-moving river. Back then, my mind was still a place I could rest in, not a storm I had to survive.

It must have started as a whisper, a small ripple in the stillness, something I thought would pass. But it grew until it became everything. Now, the quiet feels like something I dreamed, something too distant to be real. I chase it, reach for it in the rare moments when the chaos slows.

And I am left here, a drift in the wind, unable to remember what it felt like to simply be.

Sometimes, late at night, when the world is half-asleep, I almost hear it again. A memory of silence, pressed between heartbeats, between the ticking of the clock and the sigh of the wind against the glass. But it never stays. The storm always finds its way back, tearing through my thoughts, scattering them like leaves in a wind I cannot stop.

I wonder - was I ever truly at peace, or was it only the absence of knowing what would come? And if I was, if that silence was real, is it lost forever? Or is it waiting for me somewhere, just beyond the horizon?

Text by Mick Chillage : Heres my first ambient mix, since the "Best Served Chilled" tapes of 94 & 95 and a rather lengthy four hours in total thanks to developments in technology & a substantial collection of ambient music. I decided to split them into two parts and offer the files at 320 kbps after getting some feedback on various forums on what is the perfect ambient mix.. I may upload the whole mix in one piece later..I feel this mix is more suited to personal listening rather than trying to chill people out at a social gathering, as it shifts from very dark minimal drones and deep environmental sounds to gentle classical pieces to pure space music & occasionally returning to earth with more emotional compositions. Fortunately due to the very long running time of the mix, I was able to included full length versions of most of the tracks while using a repeated theme at various intervals using multi-tracking additional looping & effects.
