I had so much fun attending this years Luminosity Beach Festival in Holland, so much so that I adopted a Pink Flamingo called Flugelhorn. 

Alongside attending the renowned 4 day Trance festival, I was also selected to play at the Afterparty. Which was a little bit crazy and a complete roadblock on the Saturday. Apologies to the disappointed people who came down and couldn't get in when I was playing (I'll make it up to you Daniel and Bryony). 

For this set I played tunes that sum up the festival for me and it contains music from the likes of Jon O'Bir,  David Forbes, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Solarstone, John O'Callaghan, Daniel Kandi, Ferry Corsten, Vincent De Moor and many more. I hope you enjoy the set as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

Big shout out to all the new and old faces I met over there, and for those of you who said I was crazy for driving there and back, you are absolutely right. There aren't many festivals that I would drive 16 hours each way for however, Luminosity is one of them.

William Daniel’s passion for electronic music began at a young age, growing up in Scotland during the golden era of trance, techno, and house. His first exposure to underground music came through pirate radio, where he discovered the raw energy of unfiltered club sounds. Listening to these illicit broadcasts fueled his desire to become a DJ, and before long, he was making his own mixes and experimenting with turntables.

In his teenage years, William became involved in pirate radio himself, broadcasting underground dance music to local audiences. These early experiences sharpened his skills in track selection, blending genres, and understanding the energy of a set - skills that would later define his career. His dedication and natural talent behind the decks quickly led him into Scotland’s club scene, setting him on a path to becoming one of the country’s most respected DJs.

William’s career took off when he secured residencies at some of Scotland’s most iconic club nights, including Colours, Inside Out, and Freefall at the legendary Arches nightclub in Glasgow. The Arches was a cornerstone of UK clubbing, hosting world-class DJs and unforgettable nights. His ability to craft euphoric, high-energy sets made him a key figure in the club’s history, earning him a dedicated following.

His deep connection with The Arches lives on through his DJ sets and Forgotten Moments mix series, where he curates nostalgic sets featuring the classic tracks that defined the club’s golden era. These mixes have resonated with fans worldwide, keeping the spirit of the venue alive.

Beyond DJing, William has played a crucial role in the music industry through his work at 23rd Precinct Music, one of Scotland’s most respected independent music publishers and record stores. His experience at 23rd Precinct allowed him to gain deep industry insight, working alongside established artists, discovering emerging talent, and helping shape the trajectory of electronic music in the UK.

His work in A&R, label management, and music publishing at 23rd Precinct strengthened his influence in the scene, giving him a unique perspective on both the creative and business sides of the industry. Through this role, he contributed to the success of various artists and helped curate some of the best music releases in the dance genre.

In addition to his DJing and industry work, William has made significant contributions as a music journalist, writing for M8 Magazine and Beatsmedia.

M8 Magazine was one of the UK’s most respected dance music publications, covering global club culture, artist interviews, and the latest industry trends. William’s in-depth knowledge and firsthand experience made him a key contributor, delivering reviews, features, and exclusive insights into the world of electronic music.
