Baronna joins us with a devilishly deep and delectable blend of past, present and future D&B jungle. 

Following on from her rich range of mixes and radio shows on her Soundcloud, Baronna’s 1 More Mix edition taps into her extensive history as a raver and music head; a journey that began for her in the late 80s and has returned in earnest in the last five or so years, even calling upon the mighty Krust for mentoring, as she reveals in this interview below. 

Baronna first crash landed onto the 1 More Thing radar during the curation of the 1 More Tune concept, eventually leading to her debut release – Peggy Cadis. 1 More Mix 038 - Baronna

A collaboration of two friends: Matic and Trisector aiming to create music that brings together elements they love about drum & bass and techno. For the last few years they have been exploring the deeper and more experimental side of the 170 spectrum in their Helsinki-based studio, in their DJ sets, and on their monthly IDA Radio show - Harmaa. Out Of Fuel's sound is a combination of influences one you could say is constantly changing. At the moment it can be described as a blend of deeper drum and bass, hypnotic techno, smoky dub, shoegaze influenced textures spiced with tight percussions, heavy bass and occasionally dirty breakbeats.

Their debut LP - entitled Geometric Landscapes will be released in November 2023 on Finnish label Straight Up Breakbeat. It explores these concepts to their extent, in long form format, with 9 carefully crafted and polished tracks. In their DJ sets they love to drop a bass heavy selection of deep, dark, dubby, hypnotic and atmospheric drum & bass. You can expect to hear anything from classics and hidden gems to fresh and unreleased cuts, as well as  stripped down rollers and halftime steppers to chopped breakbeat action and in-your-face technoid percussion onslaught.

The EP starts with Stardust, a euphoric odyssey through frequencies of sound with simple but effective beats, twinkling melodics and heavenly pads. Particle hits your ears next to give you a tranquil journey through layers of sound with chopped breaks, ethereal vocals and progressive delight. The title track 'Ocean of Stars' offers up classic Breaks combined with timeless sounding pads and delicate flowing keys to create a hypnotic journey to its ocean of stars. The EP ends with the majestic 'Cosmic Birds' that conjures up scenes of landing on a distant planet and hearing the first calls of new species that sing harmoniously with rhythm and graceful melodies. This is another excellent release from this brand new talent, who just gets better and better.
