New on Pharmacom Records is Ohrchitekt's "EXP-DNB-Set" - an approx. 52 minutes non stop journey into his specific Drum'n'Bass realm which is jam-like, lead by non standard beats and breaks, Electronica influences and some Electro and Downtempo breakdowns. Some will call it Leftfield Drum'n'Bass, some will name it as experimental, which is what "EXP" in the albums title stands for I reckon, and some will refer to it as IDM or DarkJungle rather than Drum'n'Bass. But whatever definition you choose, this one is interesting and defo stands out from what your everyday producer serves on 12" these days. Recommended to open minded people and not to those who expect UK-standards whenever they think of experimental Drum'n'Bass these days.
