Kylie Auldist’s unmistakable voice is currently topping the charts worldwide, as Kungs’ dance remix of Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ ‘This Girl’ has proven a huge international hit. Having been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and Capital FM, and is now a UK Official Chart #10 hit.

Kylie is no stranger to soul & funk fans, her searing soul singing having featured on her own albums ‘Made Of Stone’ and ‘Still Life’ (Tru Thoughts), plus with The Bamboos, as well as Freestyle Records’ own Cookin’ On 3 Burners.

For her first solo release on Freestyle, Kylie, assisted by long time friends & collaborators Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos / Lanu / CO3B / Black Feeling) and Graeme Pogson (of Aussie electronic duo GL) have honed and perfected a collection of amazing new boogie, disco & electro-funk inspired tracks that evoke the feel and sound of late 70s & early 80s club classics. Think of classic acts like D Train, Sinnamon, and singers like Chaka Khan, Maxine Singelton, Sharon Redd and you will already start to understand where this new project is rooted.

Kicking off this authentically disco style five-track, 12 inch and download single is ‘Waste of Time’, a shimmering, soulful and devilishly catchy mid tempo groover. Graeme Pogson’s synthesizer bass lines are so evocative of that era, they act like a musical time machine! This is perfect summer time soul.

‘Sensational’ (which has a sensational video to accompany it) hits a little harder, the beats, bass line and Kylie's vocals will drive you onto the dance-floor and stay there until the very last. ‘Good Time Girl’ doesn't let the pressure drop for a second and also features a fantastic proto-rap contribution from King Merc, whilst ‘Family Tree’ is pure Saturday night, feel good disco aimed at the ears and dancing feet. The last track ‘Rewards’ is yet another supremely insistent and catchy song that provides a tantalising hint of the goodies to come when the album, Family Tree, finally sees release later this year.

This is a special song for me as it's the first single of my forthcoming album which I have been working on for almost two years. I have made many records aimed at the dance floor the last years and I feel "Don't Let Go" is the perfect combination to flip the script as it's turning a corner in my production but at the same time it's still got a lot of my signature sounds. Holly Winter has an incredible vocal range and she brings across the feel good message of the song in very a unique way. Even my Mom is playing the song on repeat...so I guess that must be a good sign!

Just Breathe

The latest release on Clubsonica Records finds Golan Zocher returning to the label for his debut single 'Shush'. The Colombian born, Israel based artist made his debut on the Colombian imprint in June of 2017 with a remix (in collaboration with Kamilo Sanclemente) of 'Expression' by Dmitry Molosh. 2018 then saw Golan return for his second remix, a stunning take on Andre Sobota's 'Missing Line'. Also laying claim to releases on Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, Golan now returns to Clubsonica for his first single alongside remixes from Alex O'Rion and Supacooks. 

Sitting comfortably in deeper territory Golan crafts a redolent framework complete with harmonious grooves, sultry hooks and spirited electronics. Diversifying his portfolio further Golan's masterstroke is to collaborate and introduce the gorgeous vocals of MILA. Hailing from Colombia and an artist of profound talent, she infuses the piece with authentic soul and genuine emotion. Breathy wails and romantic storyboards come in waves, effortlessly drifting through a maze of organic drums and melodic clusters, before reaching a serene and spiritually uplifting finale. 

The first interpretation of 'Shush' is provided by Alex O'Rion who makes his label debut. In addition to appearances on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, the Dutch artist has also found a home on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and ICONYC. Always a regular in Beatport's Progressive House charts, Alex now debuts on Clubsonica with a superb remix of 'Shush'. Aptly coined 'Deep Dub', the Dutch artist strips the groove down, putting a focus on harmonious bass and ghostly vocal fragments. Dreamy yet powerful, it's free flowing narrative quickly draws you in to a storyboard of luminous tones and dusty sweeps, while a carefully crafted break sits at the core, before effortlessly shifting energy into a glowing finale.

The release concludes with Supacooks providing the second and final interpretation of 'Shush'. The Armenian duo have also been a staple in Beatport's Progressive House charts for some time. A string of well received releases for Beatfreak Recordings, Dear Deer and Parquet Recordings have made them one of hottest production duos of the moment. Now making a welcome debut on Clubsonica, Supacooks deliver a superb rendition of 'Shush' to cap the release off in style. Otherworldly in nature, tough beats and crisp percussion anchor the journey as the piece flows through a series of vocal edits and pulsating rhythms. Continuing on an unpredictable storyboard, luminous tonal themes and devilish stabs highlight the first act, perfectly setting up an ethereal break. Adding further intrigue, indistinct vocal fragments and buzzing stabs sit in stark contrast, before a powerful build and spacey drop seals it's dance floor appeal. A stunning remix from Supacooks which caps off another inspired offering from Clubsonica Records, who continue a strong start to 2019.

The collaboration of Algerian producer Numedian and Slovakian producer Abide reunite the duo for another stimulating balearic release in the form of an EP.  

Cala Paraíso, or Paradise Cove, is a hidden, off-trail, balearic retreat. Beautiful turquoise waters help paint the sun-drenched landscape. Numedian & Abide’s original mix embellishes the balearic themes with deep-set basslines, seductive rhythm, guitar plucks, and hypnotic melodies. On the nocturnal side, Paul M. delivers a banging remix to remind us what the balearic nightlife is all about. The after party begins with DTALM’s sunrise remix. Balearic beats, guitar strums, bell chimes, and the fresh balearic breeze rejuvenate the island paradise after a long festive night. Daylight is a track reflective of the simmering sun casting its shadow over the balearic islands and the aguas frescas that surround them.
