Bloc Podcast 03: Dé

Dé, a csoportunk februári mixversenyének egyik győztese. Hallhattátok zenélni a Flashback utolsó buliján, a D9-ben, Turbinában, Aetherben és az Arzenálban is. Zenéléssel már három éve foglalkozik, korábban játszott pár illegálon is. Hangzását a nyers techno, a hypnotic, az experimental keveredése jellemzi, törtekkel fűszerezve, kerülve a közhelyeket. Szeretne egyedi és jellegzetes hangzásvilágot létrehozni, amiről felismerhető. Legnagyobb inspirációi és kedvencei Kaiser, Helena Hauff és Dasha Rush, hazai oldalról pedig Isu és Cvrdwell. A nemrég indult Bloc Budapest egyik rezidense.

TKWT Podcast #85 - DÉ

@TimJa's selections are versatile on genre (Techno, Trance, Acid, Electro, Hardhouse) while sharing a common trait which he calls “groove”, defined by rich & complex rhythmic patterns formed by the interactions of the various elements that form each track, in addition to otherworldy atmospheric textures ranging from sci-fi to full fantasy. His setlists are prepared on the basis of those patterns complementing each other in interesting ways, smoothly blending into one entity, telling a story from the start till the end of his set. 

TimJa has organized and curated a number of events in various musical directions and legal/illegal venues in the past 2 years. His last project was called IDENTITÄT which focuses on providing new niche sounds to the crowd by focusing on rising talents regardless of the usual unfair standards, in addition to making multi-disciplinary events with a special element in each event.

Gingershot has a wide range of tastes in music: she feels that harsh, grating industrial style is as close to her as the emotional and fragile heartbreaking vocals. The point for her is to thicken the sound to fulfill the well-known aesthetic formula: 1 + 1 = 3. While she freely juggles genres and loves to get lost in expanding her music library, she also educates herself on the theory of music and the philosophy of arts academically.

She entered the Hungarian techno scene in 2018, after years of gathering tracks since 2021 she has been a frequently invited DJ at various events. However, she also actively publishes about the local scene which she likes to be a member and an observer of, too. Out of the capital she has been invited to other cities in Hungary, also played in Berlin, and released a guest mix in Madrid. In Budapest, she is a resident of the Kindergarten event series.

This time she would like to show us her progressive selection of club techno, tribal, and hypnotic grooves with a hint of remarkable sound design and experimental motifs.

Moral's journey into the electronic music world began at a young age, navigating through various musical styles and experimenting with different sounds but the culture of techno is what really got him in the end. The music is now a significant part of his everyday life. Whenever he steps onto the stage, his goal is clear: He is always trying to give a piece of himself and his taste.

Within techno, two genres resonate deeply with Moral: hard techno and  groove. He constantly strives to create a performance that seamlessly melds with the atmosphere of the party while staying true to his individual style.

His fusion of hard techno's raw power with the irresistible groove creates a sonic tapestry that enthralls the audience. Balancing the pulsating energy of his beats with an intuitive understanding of the crowd's vibe.

Berlin-born, underground culture enthusiast Hayam has a profound connection to Techno. For her, Techno isn’t just music; it’s a multidimensional journey of connection, sensuality, and freedom. It’s a vibrant blend of the societal and the political, making it more than just beats; it’s ,,a scream for freedom.’

With a background in classical music and a decade of navigating Berlin’s club scene, Hayam brings a unique and eclectic taste to the decks. From bumpy hard groove to nostalgic 90s Techno/Trance, she keeps the dance floor energy alive.

When she’s behind the decks, Hayam thrives on the euphoria of symbiosis with the crowd. It’s like a musical boomerang, where energies flow seamlessly between her and the dance floor. That moment when she sees those ecstatic faces of enjoyment and realizes, „OK, the track fits,“ is pure magic."

Dé is a fresh face in the hungarian scene, started djing four years ago. He felt in love with the experimental, raw, loopy and hypnotic techno inmediatly, meanwhile he is trying to avoid the cliches, playing the finest bangers and keeping the proper techno alive. In 2023, he became the resident of Bloc Budapest.
