The Goomies (2005-2012)The Goomies were an American Indie band from La Mesa, California formed in 2005 by Corey Johnston (Guitar/Vocals) and his friends Chris Weeks (Bass) and Mark Beach (Drums).  The band later added  Zach Brewer to the band on second guitar.

After the Goomies run, Corey put out 2 albums under the name "Tiny Teeth", a name which was taken from a Goomies song "small, tiny teeth."  The band sounded and resembled the Goomies music, but Corey later dropped the name/project after a few other bands around the country were popping up  trying to play under the same name.  So he came up with Awfulmoth and the rest is history.

2009-2012 Corey played Drums in a punk band from Lemon Grove, CA, Rock Paper Tiger.

Corey continued to write music, and recorded his music under a solo project name 'Awfulmoth' which began its modest, home-recordings in 2011, but didn't release a song, or put anything out for the public until March 2014.  

Around the same time he released his first album for Awfulmoth, Corey helped form a Blues-surf-rock band, Flakes in 2014 with  vet-Goomies member, Zach Brewer. They started by recording a demo, playing shows as a duo, later adding a Bassist in 2016 (Chico Flores), and a 2nd guitar player in 2017, Sergio Flores (Rock Paper Tiger). GENE POMPILIO is a singing drummer who enjoys herding cats, insolvency, and writing 2 ½ minute, 3 ½ chord novelty Xmas songs. In his spare time, he enjoys dance, yelling at motorists, binge-watching the X-Files, and singing whilst playing drums. He can neither confirm nor deny the allegations that Madonna once liked his demo tape.
