Stockholm's Ozgur Can brings his atmospheric house style to two new tunes on Stripped Down, while a Sasha Carassi remix completes this fantastic package.
 
Ozgur Can is a producer and audio-engineer who has been putting out all manner of house, tech and prog fusions since 2003. He also releases as Autonomi amongst other aliases, and has landed on established labels like Truesoul, Cocoon and Sincopat.
 
He kicks off this latest missive with the dark and sultry 'Chance.' Spoken word vocals lend the heavy groove and warped bassline real intimacy while tension builds through the sleek synths. It all adds up to a perfectly heady house track for those cosy dancefloor moments. 'We In Minor' is another well crafted, deep cut house groove, but this one has a more expansive, epic sense of drama. The busy cosmic synth sequences bring the track to life and ensure maximum impact.
 
Sasha Carassi might be an Italian veteran but he is still filled with fresh ideas and always brings that to the fore with his big techno tunes on Drumcode, Unrilis and Diynamic. His superb remix keeps you on a tantalising knife-edge. It has bright, sharp synths cutting through the rubbery bass while an ever present sense of turbulence unfolds up top.

Premiere: Fur Coat - The Mist [Renaissance]

Renaissance present the return of Fur Coat and the third single to be taken from their critically acclaimed album ‘Polyphony’.

‘The Storm’ EP features one of the album’s most successful cuts, ’Eye Of The Storm’, with the much sought-after vocal talents of Delhia De France; and ‘The Mist’, a new track Fur Coat wrote exclusively for the EP.

“I was in the studio working on new ideas for 2021,” explains Fur Coat’s Sergio regarding the new track, “and wanted something emotional, with a positive mood that made people dance at the same time. Although we are still living with restrictions and lockdown, you have to keep the motivation and hope for the better times ahead.”

Meanwhile, ‘Eye Of The Storm’, which is a 110 BPM sultry, downtempo affair in original album guise, receives the full club treatment courtesy of leading producers Nico Stojan and MODEM. 

Nico Stojan needs little introduction, with a long history of releasing on the world’s best labels. The ethereal remix is redolent in his beautiful, deep, electronic style and will no doubt have broad appeal.

Premiere: Fur Coat Ft. Delhia De France - Eye Of The Storm (Nico Stojan Remix) [Renaissance Records]

Renaissance are delighted to announce their first ever various artists (V/A) EP!

It may seem strange to say that, but it’s true, in all of the brand’s near thirty-year history, it has never dipped its toe in the water of V/As. The ‘Merin’ EP (FYI, Merin is Yoruba for four) will - you guessed it - always feature four key cuts from the planet’s best and marks its debut with a diverse haul that looks across three continents to present a multi-genre package.

Freshly minted from his Øostil partnership, Mexico’s HeÎk demonstrates his solo-studio prowess with ‘Eunoia’, a powerful, yet beautiful melodic techno ride; Holland’s Rob Hes provides ‘Undivided’, which has a similar style and feel so we guess you could consider it a Europe vs South America MH&T-showdown. The winner, of course, is entirely up to you!

The other half of the package goes solely to Canada and comes courtesy of three of the Montreal’s brightest talents - UNDERHER & Shades Of Blk and Woe. UNDERHER’s collaboration with Shades Of Blk, ‘Yesterday’, further confirms his status as one of the finest vocal-driven producers at work today; featuring the haunting vocals of Eleonora, the track walks the deft line between deep and organic, and will likely find favour with both camps. Woe on the other hand, takes things into indie territory with ‘Episode’, a twisted, dark, arp-infused composition that will no doubt delight and terrify in equal measure.

Fur Coat has been at the forefront of the electronic music scene for the past decade, steadily building his reputation as a producer, DJ and label owner (Øddity Records).

As a producer Fur Coat’s consistent release schedule places emphasis on quality and expressing himself as an artist. With two acclaimed albums including 2020's ‘Polyphony’ on Renaissance the Fur Coat sound can be heard on the likes of Balance, Last Night On Earth, Just This, Systematic, Watergate, Crosstown Rebels and of course Øddity Records - the label that Sergio Muñoz (Fur Coat) founded in 2017. On the remix front his takes on the music of Stephan Bodzin, Eli & Fur, Röyksopp, Sasha and WhoMadeWho…along with highly prized Fur Coat originals all see heavy rotation of his music from the likes of Pryda, Tale Of Us, Adriatique, Mind Against, Kölsch, Solmun and many more.

On the DJ front Fur Coat sets are all about creating a journey for the listener founded on melody creativity and taking his audience through a range of emotions - something evident in recorded sets for BBC Radio 1’s legendary Essential Mix and mix CD for the iconic Balance Presents series. Based in Barcelona, Fur Coat can be seen live every weekend at Europe's best clubs and events like Extrema Outdoor, WeCanDance, DGTL, Fabric, Watergate, Rex Club, Hive and Pacha. Sergio maintains a busy schedule that sees regular Fur Coat tours of North America and South America appearing at top festivals and clubs like: Space Miami, Spybar, Stereo, Warung, D-Edge, Crobar, as well as touring around Asia and Australia.

As a true artist with a thirst for new music and creativity Fur Coat can be found hard at work in the studio when not on the road. Constantly looking for new music to present in his DJ sets or release on Øddity, Fur Coat strives to innovate and explore - pushing his personal musical vision and that of his label forwards.
