Giulia Fournier-Mercadante (GiGi FM) is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ, resident of NTS Radio, dancer and music producer. Boldly versatile, GiGi FM’s selections have charmed bodies on dancefloors all across the world, such as Berghain, Rural Japan, Draaimolen, Fabric, De School, Primavera, The Bunker New York, and Sustain Release. In the booth her genre-defying spirit is in full effect with techno, bass, breaks and ambient all coming in to play.

Deeply influenced by astrology, philosophy and the cosmos; for GiGi, music is both a tool for expression and introspection. As a multi- hyphenate artist, she continues on her quest to push artistic boundaries and hold space for unique audience experiences. Whatever medium she may adopt, the result is a rich embodiment of the interconnectedness of sound, colour, movement and metaphysics.

Repping an oft overlooked Swiss techno contingent comes the next guest in Bassiani’s podcast series. Basel born and raised Garçon is one of the most promising names to call the bucolic town on the shores of the Rhine his home. He got an early start, mixing from the age of 14 and booked a mere two years later, assiduously cobbling together influences in his early work and soon delivering performances city-wide. First those at Hinterhof (now closed) and then those at local staple Elysia. With musical collaborator Agonis he’s also fired up techno label Amenthia Recordings, an agar dish for like-minded Basel music makers. His own sonic experiments are a purely live affair, and that’s no bad thing. Garçon’s escapades, from Waking Life to Barcelona’s Parallel have honed his voice and made of him an adept hand when faced with the strenuous demands of modulating crowd energy. Nodding to a range of influences across the electronic map he harbours a superlative talent for finding niche sounds at the fringes of common scope. Enter Podcast 208: towering, no-bullshit sounds, an hour of ghostly, mechanical whispers and powerful basslines, earth-shaking and infinitesimally precise techno from this connoisseur selector.

TSUNIMAN's spellbinding trance, spacey techno, and progressive psy delights are bound by layers of the quirky and ethereal.
A moodier soundtrack for when the lights go low, TSUNIMAN's sound alchemy blends dark hypnotic elements with bright vibrations, creating otherworldly soundscapes that captivate the senses. For the past three years, they have been a resident at Klub Verboten, an alternative play party hosted in London and Berlin. After an unforgettable b2b set at Field Maneuvers festival in the Summer of 2023, they started running their party with Miro SundayMusiq - Saturday Club* - an intimate club night centred around the notion of community and supporting grassroots venues.
Their eclectic selections — often spanning 90s psychedelic trance and throbbing hypnotic techno — have earned them guest shows on numerous local and international radios, such as Rinse FM, Balamii, Noods, Radio80k, and Radio DY10. Over the last few years, they have shared the stage with the likes of Len Faki, Dasha Rush, HAAi, and LOLSNAKE, to name a few. Venturing beyond borders, they have played at renowned French clubs Macadam and Rex Club, as well as Berlin's underground favourites OHM and Club OST. Within the dynamic London techno scene, TSUNIMAN has become a regular at FOLD, performing at multiple editions of the captivating UNFOLD party. Debuting on Boiler Room with an energetic closing set earlier this year, you can be sure there will be plenty more opportunities to hear them perform.

It's time to share the second beautiful episode of our SoundSculptors series with you. We invited the Zurich based artist live ensemble @regula-rec and chose their wonderful journey which they played in September 2023 for the @iorecs night at Kauz, Zurich. Their sound aesthetics are absolutely unique and precisely designed. Full of spicy grooves, filigree atmospheres and beautiful synth lines. 🎹 🎛️
The set was not recorded from the first second, around fifty minutes are missing. But the remaining 2 hours are so fantastic that we definitely wanted to share this with you 🌹

SoundSculptors No 2 - Regula Rec 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦

Tentacular is back this week with incredibly talented, stuttgart based, producer Laima Adelaide (@amlia) 

Founder of @predawnrecords, she is also a highly skilled composer, producer, and dj with impressive musical foresight and taste, focusing on deep and ambient techno. Noisy textures, hypnotic beats and airy harmony define her very unique sound signature, both minimalist and pure, with impeccable sound design and an aesthetic close to the Bauhaus school. 

In this mix, she blends subtle frequencies and polyrhythms to evoke the imagery of a macroscopic or molecular world that blurs. This creates a merging effect between the boundaries of electronic music and natural phenomena. By combining nature's textures and organic elements, Laima orchestrates a sonic ride exploring the interplay between sound and nature.

Laima Adelaide shared a few words with her mix:

"Recently I have been inspired by fast tempo and a groove which comes in a faster BPM range. Also with a lot of futuristic sound design elements. I looked for soft and deep tracks with a subtle energy and unexpected turns. Recording the mix was like a meditation for me to listen to all the details and flow with the groove. I also feel quite fascinated by the dimensions of space and how architecture interacts with sound waves, so I picked tracks which play with different acoustics."

The sprawling canopy of the banyan tree, with its aerial roots reaching down to the earth, symbolizes the diverse landscape of my musical exploration within this mixtape. Much like the banyan's ability to thrive in various environments, from dense forests to urban landscapes, my mixtape traverses through a multitude of electronic music genres. From the deep, atmospheric beginnings reminiscent of the shaded undergrowth to the vibrant crescendos akin to sunlit clearings, the mixtape mirrors the adaptability and resilience of the banyan tree.
