A Liquid-Records DJ and resident of Inspiral, Ali has become a regular on both the national and international festival circuits, playing numerous prestigous events such as The Glade and Glastonbury in the UK, Boom, Sonica and Electric Picnic (Ireland) in Europe, and the legendary Universo Paralello in Brazil, to name but a few. If you have caught him, you may well have heard infectious beats ranging through minimal / techno / tech house or you may have been treated to a platter of sumptuous electronica of the most eclectic variety, as the occasion required. You will almost certainly have seen him sharing the stage with such artists as Gaudi, Eat Static, Mirror System, Ott, Pathaan and Naked Nick. Digital News 4, the long awaited new mix from Russian psy-master FUNGUS FUNK is yet again packed with the grooviest night psychedelic sounds as well as exciting unreleased tracks and collaborations from the genre.

Fungus Funk aka Sergey Prilepa, the legendary Russian psytrance artist began writing psychedelic tunes right before the Millenium and started to release the first Fungus Funk tracks in 2001 on record labels like Acidance Records, Discovalley or Crystal Matrix and many others. His famous debut album called “F People” came out on Acidance in 2006 overflowing with groovy baselines, aggressive synths, warm melodies and those signature psychedelic atmospheres you can still experience on every Fungus Funk release ever since, be it an own composition or a remix made for a fellow musician. The second full-length Fungus Funk album found his home at half Russian, half Australian label Blitz Music, where Sergey released his third and last album to date as well in 2010 called “Electric Grooves”.
The original Fungus Funk sound always keeps a masterful balance of complex textures and arrangements that lead the listener through a deep and interesting journey of that hazy period of time between the psychedelic night and morning. These days Fungus Funk is busy working on the material of his forthcoming new studio album and interesting side-projects such as releasing under the name Astroff or collaborating with fellow psytrance musicians like Para Halu, Obliviant, Drip Drop, Virtual Light and more.

Furthur Progressions Records evolved from parties thrown across the UK, which brought us in to contact with some of the leading labels and artists in the early 2000's. The basis of experience and wealth of talent we were working with, along with the passion of the team to continue to evolve our experience within the most enlightening medium available to humankind, led us to create a platform for the release of innovative, effective, high-quality music. 
 
The name of Furthur Progressions Records is a combination of two influences. 'Furthur' was the name of the psychedelic bus that carried Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters across the United States, often in the company of bands such as The Grateful Dead and flanked by Hells Angels. The bus was an artistic, sonic experiment that pushed boundaries, carrying some of the maddest and most creative people of the 1960's through their adventures. 'Progressions' refers to the form of music that we love - that which progresses, builds and flows on a path of emotion and joy.
