This episode is kicking off a 6-part Furthur Progressions Records series to present their artists and soundscapes with label head DJ Hamish on the eve of their 10th anniversary next year. Tune in for the talk followed by a Furthur Sessions mix by Hamish.

As a DJ, promoter and head of Furthur Progressions Records, Hamish has been immersed in electronic music for many years. When by chance he attended his first rave at the tender age of 16 he knew he had found a special kind of music and scene, one which would grab hold and catapult him through many great experiences and adventures. Nearly two decades later and the catapult is still working strong!
When behind the decks Hamish is always looking to take the crowd on an experience through psychedelic music, ranging from the melodic to the hypnotic and carrying you along on strong and warm basslines. Always searching for music that will make your soul smile, his ear for a tune and for connecting tracks in a unique way is renown, as are his long sets that transition through from trippy techno to pounding progressive trance.

From his early DJ days at parties and underground events in London, Hamish has performed around the world. Notable sets include: Glade Festival (UK), Boom (Portugal), Ozora (Hungary), Noisily (UK), Universo Parallelo (Brazil), Dream Temple (UK), Burning Man (USA) plus many more.

As a promoter and event organiser Hamish has been behind some of the most visionary and high-level events in the UK, regularly turning London into an arena of psychedelic delights through carefully constructed experiences, with line-ups including artists such as Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul, Zen Mechanics, Perfect Stranger, Klopfgeister, Kasey Taylor, Cimi & Symbolic.

In 2008, along with long-term DJ partner Mark Bedouin, he formed Furthur Progressions Records. Focusing on the release of high-quality progressive trance from a stable of dedicated artists, with releases spanning artist albums, EP’s and compilations, Furthur Progressions Records is established as one of the bastions of underground psychedelic and progressive music, with their artists performing around the world.

The first decade of the 21st century draws to an end when the small state of
Serbia all of a sudden turns into a sizzling hotspot of the Trance scene. Among
the major reasons being Sideform: Drasko Radovanovic and Milos Modrinic
from Belgrade give an exciting new spin to Progressive Trance, breaking truly
new grounds in terms of sound. A change many lovers of the genre have been
waiting for eagerly, as the considerable international success of their project
proves!
When listening to Sideform, one of the most prominent features is the sheer quality and acoustic pressure of their productions. For a good reason: Drasko and Milos meet during a professional audio engineer training in 2006. Both being avid about studio technology and Trance music, they start working together. Already their first EPs provide extremely catchy, fresh and kicking tunes and Sideform enters the upper league and is invited to play at some of the most popular festival and parties all around the world. The debut album ‘Moving On’ gains great feedback in 2011. As turns out, it is named after the creative paradigm of Sideform… In 2014, the duo joins the legendary Iboga Records, where they have continued their journey and prolific productions. A regular member of the top 10 charts on Beatport and other relevant stores, Sideform is showing no signs of stopping. Folowing that path, they are releasing their 2nd studio album “Momentum” in February 2016. They have upgraded and redesigned their dance floor sound and the release is already been highly acclaimed.

The live sets of Drasko and Milos put their audience in a rousing state of tension
between Progressive Trance and Psytrance. Fuelled by two creative minds and
their different, yet complementary ideas, this is another main feature of Sideform: A sound that is unpredictable, full of stimulating surprises, but at the same time highly consistent and smooth.The testament to that is parties and festivals they played on all four corners of the earth. Furthur Progressions Records evolved from parties thrown across the UK, which brought us in to contact with some of the leading labels and artists in the early 2000's. The basis of experience and wealth of talent we were working with, along with the passion of the team to continue to evolve our experience within the most enlightening medium available to humankind, led us to create a platform for the release of innovative, effective, high-quality music. 
 
The name of Furthur Progressions Records is a combination of two influences. 'Furthur' was the name of the psychedelic bus that carried Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters across the United States, often in the company of bands such as The Grateful Dead and flanked by Hells Angels. The bus was an artistic, sonic experiment that pushed boundaries, carrying some of the maddest and most creative people of the 1960's through their adventures. 'Progressions' refers to the form of music that we love - that which progresses, builds and flows on a path of emotion and joy.
