Sekan (@sekansekan) is, like many of his Dutch peers, known for his eclecticism. He has a particular fondness for exploring the music and artists of the Indonesian archipelago, but also a love for contemporary sounds, both of which are evidenced on his label Jiwa Jiwa. Over the years, it has grown into a  multidimensional platform that also deals in photography, articles and films. Whatever he does, including his Operator Radio residency, you can be sure that Sekan mixes up rough edge analog textures with more sleek and modern digital sounds.

The first 85 minutes of this week's mix features some of the old and new Indonesian records that have fascinated him since his childhood, but also plenty of dubs, Chicago bangers and club stuff. The latter section then takes inspiration from coming back home from a club to unwind with slow jams, jazz-funk and Polish jazz. It slowly rebuilds and re-energises, eventually leaving you ready to head back to the club and do it all again.

Eleven years strong, PLU - a.k.a. People Like Us - is a well-loved, Bristol-based queer party and collective. From hosting vibrant club nights to creating accepting, accessible spaces and connecting like-minded people in the name of a good time, the growing community is a central pillar in the city's nightlife scene.

To celebrate the anniversary, co-founder Chris Collins takes over this week's Crack Mix, gifting us an hour and a half of techno, trance, electro, bass, breaks and acid. Reflecting PLU's outlook, the mix embraces a range of genres and moods, taking from moments of sharp intensity to joyful ecstasy.

With a singular production style and a detailed knowledge of analogue synthesis, Shima has crafted his own niche in the scene alongside other great producers such as Steve Rutter and Derek Carr. With a production workrate most others could only dream of, he champions a wonderful sound that stylistically sits perfectly between old Sheffield bleep and emotional Detroit techno. His DJ sets cover everything from acid house, dub techno and electro and are a perfect reflection of what we love at On Ro.

Flora FM is a project from Taylor Hawkins, rooted in strong and emotive melodies, lush ambiance, and playful rhythms - drawing from dusty rave records, the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest, and the quick-mix DJ styles of the Midwest.

Flora FM has previously released on labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, Argot and most recently, Exotic Robotic. 

This mix was recorded live at The Lodge, Seattle. The Lodge is a weekend long party in an abandoned ski lodge in the mountains outside of Seattle.
