If there's anything to make this joyless summer brighter then surely it's a new Afterlife release. One man Balearic machine Steve Miller does it again with the Summer Of Love EP; four cuts steeped in accomplished musicianship ranging from jazzy soulful touches to moodier, bluesey affairs. Here we feature 'Fou', a smoky, skankin' little number with playful congas to offset it's edgier synths.  Sunnier climes might be out of reach for many of us this year, but all you really have to do is let Afterlife take you there.

With an abundance of amazing tunes and music coming out of these restricted times, it’s made for a bumper crop of wonky chuggers, acid heaters and sun kissed Balearic bangers for our annual ‘A Summer Riot’ EP.  So much so, that’s this year’s IX instalment has bolstered considerably, now spreading over two editions, and with 6 tracks apiece from some of our favourite producers.

Seasoned Futureboogie pros, Christophe and PBR Streetgang, head up the selection on Part Two, with Christophe delivering a meaty, reverb soaked, acid brain bender on ‘Critters 2 (The Revenge)’, whilst the PBR boys offer up a sleez and seductive Moroder inspired romp.

Glasgow’s Manakinz make a second appearance across the two ‘A Summer Riot IX’ releases, with the hypnotising ‘Mystic Throbber’, whilst Roe Deers come good with the quirky and funky sounds of ‘Monkey Dance’.

‘Fire In Zero Gravity’ by duo Acolyte, touches on Detroit techno soul and inspirative piano work for their entry, and Jakobin seals off the EP with the ghostly ambience and shuffling beats of ‘Mighty Mt’.

Prins Thomas' Norwegian-rooted Full Pupp imprint shares its first album release of 2020 coming by the very capable hands of label mainstay and deep house connaisseur Ivaylo. Next to running his own Bogota Records and being part of the Jaeger Oslo crew, Ivaylo is responsible for managing a multitude of Prins Thomas run imprints like Full Pupp, Internasjonal and Retti Fletta. With his music firmly rooted in house and its myriads of forms, ranging from the deeper soulful and jazzy sounds originating from the US of A, to the more contemporary style from the Romanians and the Chileans, Ivaylo now offers a new 8-track album experience.

Premiere: Ivaylo - Skandinavis [Full Pupp]

Arriving at the church stile, they used to rest the corpse, and there stood the hare, which, as soon as the clergyman began, "I am the resurrection and the life," uttered a diabolical howl then the corpse would change into a black, unshaped creature, and disappeared.”

Starting off the EP is RFX, with a groovy mystical disco pearl of the faraway desert.
Second, we have a rework from Native Red of the infamous track that you know to sing but probably don’t remember where you heard it.
For the second edit from Native Red, we have a dark cinematic banger for some spooky vibe.
And last but not least, a very rare psychedelic gem RFX has dug up which closes the EP in with a rite of passage.
