‘Fall From Grace’ kicks off with jet-propellor synths and driving drum lines. When the drop hits, a contorting bass line takes centre stage, bending and twisting into mutated shapes all over the razor-sharp percussion. It’s a spellbinding listening experience.

Harder & Louder is back in business in 2024 after a 3 year hiatus. The first release under the iconic catalog number HLTD100 will be a 2-track digital release from Giana Brotherz (Germany), a project already known to lovers of caustic basslines, in the style of neurofunk, but with a little twist in style, which is in line with Harder & Louder's principles: to make music a little bit harder. The release is scheduled for February 2024 on all digital stores and streaming services.

About:

Giana Brotherz (@giana-brotherz) are undoubtedly one of the most incomparable artists within the German Drum&Bass scene. It all started back in 2000 when the producer duo SSB (aka Chicken & Sola) formed the Drum & Bass live project Giana Brotherz, that created a stir within the scene from the word go. Their first releases on Basswerk & Pathfinder attained international recognition and was played by almost every well-known DJ across the board at the time. Their follow up single ‘Crossed Roots’ (Basswerk 015) was one of the most significant releases of 2002. It was only a matter of time before the duo started getting recognized for their talents and the motherland of Drum & Bass ‘the UK’ would come calling and start paying attention. 2003 saw the inauguration of their own label ‘Giana Brotherz Recordings’; which quickly established itself and became home to many renowned artists and their high-quality productions. The guys touring schedule intensified due to their immense popularity. Chicken, one half of the duo, who is known for his capacity to transport the energy of a live concert into his DJ sets, with amazing performances and stage presence. Anyone who has experienced one of his DJ performances comprehends his outstanding talent in blending Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Breaks like no other. As we approach the 24th Century, It feels like a Millennia since The “Cells Interlinked” program was used on Earth 304’s bravest hero’s to infiltrate the Raid organism.

Life had become peaceful. The world had overgrown into what it once was in the 20th Century. A beautiful green planet.

The inhabitants of Earth had since created a new line of defence for the planet. No one gets in, No one gets out. But the world lives in peace.

A neuropunk-oscopic collider that spins in the earths orbit projecting a massive 50 million kilowatts of Neuro-Neuron energy into the earth's core to keep it spinning and a sphere of power known only as Profuze around its atmosphere. 

Was there a worry of this technology again becoming intelligent and taking over again? How do we know it hasn't?

Maybe this was the end game of the Raid all along and maybe this earth is now better without its human inhabitants as it is now run by the Half human half droids themselves who know nothing more than to run the Profuze collider for all of time until the end of time and space itself.

1/ Profuse- “Hold Up”

An atmospheric mix of drums and pads echo through the intro of our first track, with a trippy wave sound crashing against itself. with a build up crossing a gated vocal that snaps into the drop.

A shimmering, Cyberfunk-esque rollout entails with a snap to a stripped away drop section before “Hold Up” takes us fully into the next quarter of our track and onwards to a contrasting breakdown that is sure to send chills up and down your spine.

A huge roll up builds into our final drop that glitches in and out with effects and vocal samples layered with more drum patterns and Cyber synths to take us out.

2 Profuze- “Come On” 

We creep into the next track and as before we are treated to some great, trippy synth sounds that sound as creepy as intended.

The first drop is a crescendo of sounds filtered with a massive bass bonanza that drops us into some amazing driving beats and bass. 

Insectuous sounds buzz and fly around our ears through a huge drum roll out for the centre of our track right before we glitch and stutter into our drop which see’s a barrage of drums and Filthy bass sounds shoot out like crazy, smashing expectations and also brain cells.

3/ Profuse- “Don't Stop Me”

And finally we end the release with a massive favourite of the EP from our Peers. 

This one starts by bringing you right into Pole Position and into the driver's seat with sounds that can only be compared to an F1 racing car crossed with a Flying Blade Runner VTO Automobile.

“You Better Don't Stop Me” is shouted out as we reach our drop and more Bass lead synth work that would not sound out of place at SIlverstone in the year 2075

Imagine, if you will, a world where every time you reach out to connect with someone, a giant disembodied hand appears out of nowhere and slaps you squarely across the face. A resounding THWACK echoes through the air as your head snaps to the side, your cheek stinging from the impact.
This is the reality of the slap back. It is an invisible force that punishes us for daring to forge bonds, to open our hearts, to love. Every attempt at intimacy is met with a violent rejection, a harsh reminder that we are alone in this world, doomed to wander the earth untouched.
The slap back comes in many forms. It could be the unanswered text message, the canceled plans, the cold shoulder from a friend. It is the silence that stretches on for days, the avoidance in the hallway, the blocked number. Each one a stinging slap to the face, a rejection so visceral it leaves us reeling.
And yet, we keep reaching out, like moths to a flame. We crave that connection, that warmth, that feeling of belonging. So we put ourselves out there, time and time again, only to be met with the sting of the slap back. It is a masochistic dance we perform, a twisted game of emotional chicken.
Some learn to adapt, to build walls around their hearts, to never let anyone in. They become masters of the slap back, dishing it out before anyone else can hurt them. A preemptive strike against the pain of rejection. But in doing so, they lose a part of themselves, a piece of their humanity.
Others succumb to the slap back, retreating into a shell of loneliness and despair. They give up on ever finding that connection, that love, that they so desperately crave. They become ghosts, haunting the edges of society, forever on the outside looking in.
And then there are the brave ones, the foolish ones, the ones who keep reaching out, despite the sting of the slap back. They are the ones who believe that love is worth the risk, that connection is worth the pain. They are the ones who keep trying, even when it hurts, even when it seems hopeless.
For in the end, what is life without love? What is existence without connection? The slap back may be a harsh reality, a cruel twist of fate, but it is also a testament to the power of the human spirit. To love, to connect, to reach out, despite the pain, despite the rejection, despite the slap back.
It is a testament to the resilience of the human heart, and the indomitable will of the human soul. So keep reaching out, keep trying, keep loving. For in the end, the slap back is nothing compared to the warmth of a true embrace, the joy of a genuine connection, the magic of a love that transcends the pain.
