I am a singer songwriter producer from the North West in the  UK.....I love Jazz and Soul...in fact  all music brings me joy!, My music has had mainstream play on The BBC music app  on The Sun Lounge  show with Adam Dunning and BBC introducing  in Manchester with “ Roesh”  Jazz FM Curved Radio in Australia  and  KJazz radio UK . We're up to our necks in avant-jazz, punk rock, and everything in between, Dogs h8 Rats are genre defying, and full of surprises. The music is born of improvisational performances so with a little luck you'll catch the "mistakes and imperfections" now and then, or as Miles Davis once said "Don't fear mistakes, there are none" and that ethos is in clear evidence within the music of Dh8R's. The core of Dh8R's is made up of Douglas Wilkerson and Michael Grimes who collaborate with friends old and new."

Bio
In 2007 at age 63 Montrealer Peter Wheeler bought his first guitar. He then went to amazon.com and purchased a book called “How To Play The Guitar for Dummies”. Since then he hasn’t looked back. 

Sometimes serious - sometimes humorous Wheeler’s music seeks to re-capture the Classic Vibes  from the 70’s & 80’s. To best describe his music imagine Bob Dylan & The Doors meet The Clash & Leonard Cohen at the Hotel California & share a bottle of wine with Tarantino. Peter Wheeler is a poet - focusing all his energies into creating musical canvases to express his personal vision of the world surrounding him. 

For several years Peter was part of the local bar scene in the Greater Montreal area.  He performed as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Rock Roulette Band. His experiences giving live performances and continually improving his guitar playing has truly shown that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

In 2020 Peter teamed up with Johnny Vienneau, a multi- talented musician and Producer from Montreal and recorded his first album of cover songs called "Self Portrait".  https://soundcloud.com/peter-wheeler/sets/self-portrait-1

Today Peter continues to pursue his passion for The Arts by doing portraits of friends, family and people he greatly admires. In 2021 he became a re-born again environmentalist and his songwriting is now focused on increasing awareness of the climatic challenge facing the planet.

Thank you very much to everyone who takes the time to listen, like and share my noises. I am extremely grateful. My apologies if I take a little while to respond to those that leave nice comments.

I like listening to music, making simple, tunes when I have time, and generally faffing about in an inefficient manner. Hopefully you might like something on offer here. 

I use a Hinkler Cigar Box guitar (about $30 from Aldi, great fun), a Flying V ukulele, a couple of old keyboards, other bits and bobs, and a Yamaha tenor saxophone.

I Lead the band from the back. That's what I do.

Until I come out front. Then it's fireworks.

I'm a trap player, locked in with the drummer. That's were I live. 

In tandem with the drummer; following his moves, and him following mine. 

Always with the trap. In, on and around the trap. Yeah. 

i set up on the drummer's left, so we face each other when he's playing on his high-hat (sock cymbal).  

In synch with the drummer and his hi-hat. Playing "on the hat."
