Vibronics & Brain Damage teamed up and decided to come together around a concept, a narrative inspiration that will undoubtedly surprise: Anglo-Caribbean and Franco-African soldiers’ experience during the first world war. 
The academic historian, poet & songwriter, Madu Messenger, uses the product of years of study and research, to develop, within that very framework, a series of texts on some key topics such as travel, friendship, war and death. This project thus aims at offering a learning experience about this often little-known period of our history. 
It will draw troubling parallels with some more contemporary considerations on culture shocks, immigration, imperial powers and horrors of war that still affects all of us today. Following their reflection on this sensitive issue, the musicians of the project’s – all of many other origins, Anglo-French, Jamaican or Asian – move towards a cultural alignment, opposite to certain enslaving and communitarian models.

PSYENCE have announced their return this October with an infectious new single ‘You & I’ and a series of live dates this October.

Blurring the lines of 60's Americana garage rock and flirting with modern-day psychedelia such as Pond and Temples, Psyence is an intense chemical reaction of face-melting riffs, dynamic vocals and groove-based rhythms that have been locked away up north to slowly mature away before they break out this year.

The 4-piece from Stoke-On-Trent are a band that continue to step into new frontiers. Following on from their acclaimed singles 'Chemicals For Breakfast' and ‘Phoenix’, Psyence will now release another heavyweight single ‘You & I’, mixed by James Aparicio (Grinderman, These New Puritans, Spiritualized, Liars). While it’s more assured, more confident, and more tightly wound than their previous output, it’s another dynamic piece to the armoury that bears the unmistakable sound of Psyence.

Already lauded by the likes of NME, Clash Magazine, Q Magazine, The Quietus, Artrocker and The Guardian, as well as being hailed "the best live band" he'd seen in 10 years by The Charlatan's Martin Blunt following their Liverpool Festival of Psychadelia performance, Psyence are rapidly becoming much much more than just a new ‘one to watch’.

‘You & I’ will be released on October 23rd 2015 through Salvation Records. Psyence will hit the road on a series of UK tour dates throughout October and November.

JuJu is the brainchild of Sicilian multi-instrumentalist Gioele Valenti (Lay Llamas, Herself). Following on from the projects 2016 debut – widely hailed as one of the best, most innovative psych albums of the year – Valenti has signed to Fuzz Club for the release of sophomore LP ‘Our Mother Was A Plant’, released September 22nd. Carrying on in its predecessor’s footsteps, the new LP is a continuation of JuJu’s ritualistic sonic exploration into the cultural implications of the current refugee crisis, humanities increasingly strained relationship with Mother Earth and neo-pagan mythology.


Even more forward-thinking and adventurous than the last, the new album summons all kinds of spirits with its rhythmic, otherworldly psychedelia – changing the game, once again. Calling it just a ‘psych’ record would be an injustice though, JuJu’s shamanic mantras are influenced just as much by afrobeat, krautrock, glam, post-punk, art rock, drone and everything in between. As The Quietus put it: “Along comes an artist who resets the coordinates and makes the past seem startling new again”

It’s easy to guess Acid Baby Jesus’ shtick just going on their name but to those who aren’t already in the know: don’t be fooled into thinking these are just another quasi-religious, LSD-loving psych-rock band - there’s a reason these Greek garage-rockers have been championed so highly in the European scene. Acid Baby Jesus are less concerned with the spiritual and tripped-out realms that their name foreshadows than they are with pure hip-shaking, rock’n’roll hedonism.

Formed in Athens in 2009 the four-piece have two LPs behind them, ‘LP’ and ‘Selected Recordings’, and after a long three-year wait they’re back with their third album ‘Lilac Days’ – their first on Fuzz Club Records. The album sees ABJ at their best; their frenetic garage-rock distilling a hazy mix of 60s Western psychedelic pop, traditional Eastern folk and the scuzzy R'n'R sounds of The Stooges or Brian Jonestown Massacre.

We got asked by Blank Space Oslo to join an art project. This is the result. We made music and Lorenza D Walker made a sculpture. Inspired by a cave at Nesodden. The drum sounds are mostly made in that cave and everything is drowned in an IR from the cave. (The nerds among you will understand.)

From Glasgow’s fertile DIY punk scene come Breakfast Muff, a thrillingly uncompromising pop trio who will be releasing their new album 'Eurgh!' on Amour Foo Records on July 7th.

The songs are about sexuality, feminism and feelings and are an all-round giant dose of fun. Bandmates Eilidh McMillan (Rapid Tan, Joanna Gruesome), Simone Wilson (Hairband, Mary Column) and Cal Donnelly (Spinning Coin, Rapid Tan) switch between guitar, bass and drums in a cacophony of anxiety, celebration and creativity.

Since forming in 2014, the band have shown a determined focus, playing as many gigs as possible and putting out two records. Their first album, The Feels, was made in two days. Their second, Rainbow Yawn, was made in three, and Eurgh! in four. This time, the album was recorded at The Big Shed Community Centre in the Highlands in May 2016, with gloriously hot weather contributing to the exuberant sound. The vocals were laid down together in the main hall, with the lead singer standing close to the microphone while the others were at a distance, lending a truly live and in-the-moment feel to the recordings.

Grooms' Exit Index combines the abandon of pop with the unease of American life in 2017, cloaking its hooks in a clamor of samples and distortion, its agitation expressed in its dream-poetry lyrics. The album as a whole is a study in contrasts—light meeting dark, amplifier fuzz surrounding big melodies, sampled friction squaring off with fluidly played basslines. 

Grooms laid down the skeleton tracks for Exit Index, the Brooklyn band's first album since 2015's Comb the Feelings Through Your Hair, at the storied New York recording studio The Magic Shop. 

The heavy processing on the group's guitars helps add to the gloom as well; Johnson, who has co-owned the Brooklyn pedal company Death By Audio Effects since 2008, made a limited-edition distortion pedal to celebrate the album's release. "There's a lot of tremolo on Exit Index," he says, "so I made a fucked-up-sounding trem. I designed it to be dense and possibly confusing at first, where all the controls affect what the other controls do, like a synth. It can tremolo, or it can degrade things like they're on worn-out cassette tapes." Collin Dupuis (Angel Olsen, Lana Del Rey) mixed the album, adding a few finishing touches to intros and song structures while also making the structures Grooms constructs sound even more massive and imposing.
