Dawns Cold Embrace

Keeping with the Valentine's Day theme of love, here's an oldie but goldie I wrote this back in 1998, can you believe it, It's another song about my dream girl that I wouldn't meet for many year afterwards. I was divorced for about 2 years and pretty much feeling abandoned and lonely. I remember wanting to write a song in the same vein as "And I Love Her" by The Beatles. A very acoustic number with an accordion playing in the background, you know, very romantic like something you might hear in a Paris cafe! This was one of the first songs I did with Charlie, it wasn't recorded too well since I had an old Tascam 8-track analog recorder and it's distorted quite a bit but I think the melody and lyrics still hold up. (Mastering didn't help this song at all, sorry!) I don't know, let me know what you think in the comments. I've always liked the first line about wrapping myself inside her smile. I produced the video a few months ago for this Valentine's Day. I enjoyed putting it together and added like 10 quick snap shots of beautiful women taking selfies at the end of the video. Black Dark Humor is a sad poem about the routine of life in a big city like São Paulo. A difficult day in the life of an ordinary Paulistano, facing work and dealing with the chaos of the city. A day when the earth stood still.

Thought I Was Dreaming

The Crystal Caves is a symbol of submission, revelation, and the enigmatic boundary between knowledge and madness. It depicts vast, gleaming caverns deep beneath the earth’s crust, where immense quartz crystals grow like frozen lightning. These radiant formations are not merely geological wonders — they are conduits of consciousness, forming the neural lattice of an ancient, mythological intelligence.

In the lore of this card, humanity’s collective fears and desires are imprinted upon the crystals, forming an unfathomable archive of thoughts and memories. Faced with an existential crisis — be it environmental collapse, war, or spiritual disillusionment — a select few are chosen to hear the ringing. This sound, like a chorus of distant bells reverberating inside their minds, is a calling from the depths. Those who submit to the summons venture into the Crystal Caves, seeking understanding. Others resist, unwilling to face the knowledge that awaits — and in doing so, are consumed by the madness of dissonance.

This card challenges us to confront our inner callings. It asks whether we are willing to descend into the recesses of our own minds, face the uncomfortable truths that lie within, and emerge transformed. Alternatively, it warns of the destructive consequences of rejecting growth when the time has come to evolve.

This work is also a collaboration with Marco Turrini following the previous work. We tried what happens if I play "MEMORIES OF THE PAST" which is one of Marco's masterpieces together with him.How I would add my interpretation to this work while making full use of Pink Floyd's flavor and Marco's honed sensibilities, that was my problem.A big fan of Pink Floyd can not defile the honor of Pink Floyd.  :)
I sincerely thank Marco Turrini again. Also, I would like to confess that I'd like to express my respects to the many musicians who gave me a lot of musical influences, involved in this work.
And thank you for listening to this work from the bottom of my heart.

When I listened to the sound source of Marco's "MEMORIES OF THE PAST ... TRIBUTE", the first thing I came up with was  "Breathe" by Pink Floyd. It is one song in the album "THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON". Then, on "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (included in  "Wish You Were Here ")A famous performance came back in my mind. This may be better known.
Both are masterpieces. There are a lot of name performances left. I will introduce it below.
By listening to that songs again, why I remembered that songs, I could find something in common between them, and at the same time you will be noticing something completely different.
What Marco drew for this song is Marco's "Pink Floyd", not Pink Floyd itself. Indeed, I feel an exceptional talent to him. For example,I'd like you to check the chord progression of the second part of this song. Mr.Marco treats it so that it is not cleverly noticed immediately,You will notice that the essence of a famous song nicely included. There should be many people who understood by just listening.Therefore, the title of this song is "MEMORIES OF THE PAST ... TRIBUTE", I do not ask Marco, I imagine arbitrarily and enjoying it. :)
