This mix was recorded a couple of months ago after my summer travels, very inspired by the sounds and the atmospheres of the beautiful places i crossed, a big explosion of emotions, the pleasure of travelling again after the pandemic, feeling like the begining of a new era, still following the paths of the sacred ancestors, trying to blend various sonorities from different coultures to create a unique syncretic shamanic journey, a story without an ending like the jorney of the soul..

Hadra Altervision presents BENDJA, who, under the aegis of a modern psychedelism, offers his outlook from it, at the crossroads of 70’s vibes and current sound designs. "The Same Law" is the first EP released by Bendja on Hadra Altervision Records. Far from the genre standard, these four tracks offer a different glance on bass music, profoundly inspired from fuzz rock as much as trip hop. If the path splits, evolving from trails to asphalt highways, the destination remains the same. It is by seeking the track that the soul reveals itself, and by deviating from it that it embraces the world. The Same Law is a gaze to the horizon, from a drifting raft or from the top of a mountain. Like a mirror of actual antagonisms, take the seasoned observer’s place and look through his eyes.

It is now my honor to return to this wonderful Universo Paralello Festival (Bahia, BR) for another performance on the Chill Out Stage after such a difficult and sensitive period of a pandemic on our planet! This festival has a very special meaning for me, since it is my favorite event and, as those close to me know, it is where I started to idealize my project. Recently I have been extremely impacted in a positive and inspirational way by the birth of my beloved son Jojo, to whom I dedicate this work, intending to gather my energy and eternalize all the wonderful vivid feelings that I experienced since his birth. And it is within this context of overcoming and great love that I developed the theme of this sound line, being able to draw a special message for such an important occasion: “Life is a miracle”. So excited to introduce volume 3 of the In-Too-Deep series ! :):)

If you visit @fruiterama 's bio on his page you will see 'Slowly. Deeply. Smooth.'  This pretty much sums up his skills.  I was absolutely over the moon when chatting one day we came up with the idea to make a collab set.  Now this may possibly seem an every day occurance type thing, but for me, 'Fruiterama', seriously.. wants to share a set with me ?!  This is just amazing as the guy is one of my absolute idols.  I didn't want to waste the opportunity so wanted to do my best !  I hope I got somewhere near his standard with my efforts !

From Fruiterama…    This was very different from every podcast I did so far and a completely new challenge for me as an artist. Mostly because it was not just about the story that I wanted to tell, this was a duet and so I also wanted to leave space for John. I think the hardest part was to imagine what his parts would sound like and how they would fit with mine. And it might have been even easier for me than it was for him because I could record my part in one run. But I still had a lot of fun creating this very special mix and I put in as much heart and passion as I would have if I had done it on my own.
