It wasn’t quite as big in North America outside of the popularity of Daft Punk and the DJ scenes in New York and L.A., but the disco/house/garage/electronic scene known as “french touch” was huge in Europe in the ‘90s, especially in Paris where it originated.

Dance against the patriarchy! 🧦

Materia Hache troubles and from that troubling makes politics. It is in a permanent search of collective displacement from an individual introspection. It is QUEER, it is TECHNO, it is HOUSE; Since the beginning of 2020 she has been immersed in the search for women and nonbinary producers to give visibility and voice to all those who fight for and to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced.

    Short story about the mix:

"Touch belongs to the order of what is difficult to represent. And the thing is that every sense has a related and isolated organ that we can investigate. In the case of touch, its organ, the largest in the body, is the skin itself. A sense that allows us to establish con-tact ("with-touch") with ourselves and with others; a sense that is always defined in its relationship with. The health crisis that we are experiencing, of never-before-known proportions, has divided bodies and stipulated new politics of contact-no-contact, or of touchability (that new normalized normality). Human geographies and the notion of personal space have mutated and with it what it means to touch. Brushing a skin against another skin seems to have aligned itself with violence and disobedience. It is worth wondering if touching will continue to trigger ethical dilemmas, if it will continue to be a crime monitored and punished, or if distance will make us lose consciousness of our own bodies."

"This mix was one of those "I feel like DJing by myself right now on this Saturday afternoon" kinda situations - which is today spontaneous and freewheeling without much of a plan other than what I wanted to hear in the moment. I try and record basically any time I DJ so 1) I can listen back and get to know my music better, 2) think about ways I can improve and, 3) I have the lightning captured in a bottle if any sparks do indeed fly. Stylewise, I would say the magic word for this mix is "momentum". Some tracks are a little housier, some are more locked to the techno grid, but I think they all propel you through time to the next beat (and the next, and the next). Hope you enjoy!"

La Materia Hache incomoda y desde ahí hace política. Está en una búsqueda permanente de desplazamiento colectivo a partir de una introspección individual. Es una forma de resistencia desde el cuerpo de baile para un cuestionamiento/desplazamiento individual/colectivo. Es aquello silencioso que está abierto al constante cambio: es lo queer, es lo techno, lo house, lo ∀mor; es lo que nace desde el miedo, la distancia y la incertidumbre; es todo aquello que intentan invisibilizar mientras desde el underground respondemos con ritmos que nos desplazan, que nos cuestionan, que nos convierten en una sola materia, al menos por unos instantes, más fuerte que cualquier forma dada. 

MH empieza a pinchar en el verano de 2018, durante 2020 se sumerge en la búsqueda de productors mujeres y/o no binarias, para dar visibilidad y voz a todas las que luchan por y para crear una pista de baile que merezca ser bailada, actualmente sigue investigando en busca de un sonido que no deje de hacer sudar a la pista de baile.

Set para la fiesta CUIR III de 12 Hour Line Kollektiv (@12hourlinekollektiv) a través de la cual buscan reformular el concepto de Club, donde todo el mundo sea bienvenido y se sienta parte de una pequeña revolución mediante la creación de espacios propios, transversales, de colectividad, seguridad y respeto mutuo, sin prejuicios y convencionalismos heteropatriarcales, donde la música de baile tiene el poder de unir a todes por igual.

Materia Hache is a Berlin-based DJ, part of a new generation that still wants to make politics through the sound, the dancefloor and the mix. Founder of the queer-DIY collective OTHERS TO THE FRONT. They define themselves as a House DJ, understanding the genre as something dynamic and fluid. Their sound mixes old-school and new-school from 120bpm up to 140bpm, constantly trying to capture the heartbeat of the dancefloor.  You will dance to a range from jackin' techno to Underground House, from the deepest to the most uplifting beats, always in search of the groove and dance. Through their DJ sets they fight in order to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced, giving visibility and voice to the FLINTA&POC community.

Jiman is a French DJ and producer from Bethune. He discovered electronic music at the age of 14 where he spent his free time in a local record store. Afterwards, he went out a lot in clubs and techno parties in Belgium. He always bought vinyls and his style really came to life thanks to the production. Thus he released his first EP on Syncrophone and Singular, the Marcelus' label. In 2017, he founds his own label Paerer, gathering 5 releases so far, which wants to deepen the experimental side of Techno. In 2019, he mixes for the first time at Tresor Berlin's techno parties series "New Faces" . Jiman keeps an infinite love for vinyl in both his productions and his sets.  His sounds are cradled by the influences of Detroit, Berlin and UK techno.

Materia Hache is a Berlin-based DJ, part of a new generation that still wants to make politics through the sound, the dancefloor and the mix. Founder and promoter of @otherstothefront and curator of their series #HouseOfOthers 
They define themselves as a House DJ, understanding the genre as something dynamic and fluid. Their sound mixes old-school and new-school from 120bpm up to 140bpm, constantly trying to capture the heartbeat of the dancefloor.  You will dance to a range from jackin' techno to Underground House, from the deepest to the most uplifting beats, always in search of the groove and dance. They understand the DJ Booth/Dancefloor relationship as elements that communicate and travel together, both part of the same thing. Nobody is more than anybody on the dancefloor. Through their DJ sets they fight in order to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced, giving visibility and voice to the FLINTA&POC community.
