'PLASMA' (Плазма) is a 1997 trance track by producer Eduard Gubin (aka Cosmonaut, aka Radiotrance). "He was one of the first electronic music artists who has been successfully pulling in big crowds all over Russia and Eastern Europe. For over two decades his mission has been to transport the masses to a vivid alternate realm of progressive house, techno, breaks and trance" (RA).

A regular at Dalston’s much loved queer venue Dalston Superstore, and at parties such as Bodycon & GAUCHE, Bethan’s style is not limited to one specific genre; she enjoys digging deep into her collection, playing a variety of 90s/early 2000s selections mixed with newer releases covering trance, techno, acid, breakbeat, golden era drum & bass and beyond, in order to take the listener on a sonic journey through history.💞

In theme with the tragedies happening in the world right now, this month's artwork depicts Ukrainian party Cxema (pronounced “Skhema”), "the series of techno events which serve as spaces for Kyiv’s audiovisual and bodily revolution. Cxema was born in Ukraine in a time of disillusionment by the Maidan, the country’s militarization, increased panic about impending war, counterrevolution, and economic crisis. Raves became spaces for revolutionary pathos to maintain its validity despite the passing time, and – on the contrary – to grow stronger and reach increasing numbers of people. As it repeatedly brought together up to two thousand young progressives on a single dance floor, in the dreamy mood of total freedom, Cxema offered a space radically different from its surrounding reality." "I haven't recorded a vinyl only mix for a while. The new graphic design and the small new start at ZENA gave me the opportunity to finally do it again! The mix includes some of my new record finds and some tracks I've been playing for a while. Mainly faster, breaky electro tracks over a time span from today to 20 years ago."

"ZENA means the world to me. Since we joined forces three years ago, we have achieved so much together, grown together and gained so much more confidence as individuals and as a group in the field of electronic music and club culture. The very mixed reactions to our founding have shown all the more how important political, feminist, activist and socio-cultural work is in this field. although we have already achieved a lot and things have changed, the work has not become less important. my wish is that we continue to work self-critically, tackle new projects together, learn from each other, get constructive feedback and grow beyond ourselves. I am very much looking forward to the coming years and am happy every day about our special friendship!"

For some years OLIV has been twisting knobs and turning records – always varying between different genres like Experimental, Electroacoustic Music, Minimal, House, Tech, Breakbeat, Electro, Acid and Bass. She has been playing various clubs in Germany as well as London& Amsterdam, supporting various artists, e.g. Shanti Celeste, Saoirse, Object Blue, Cinthie & Kiddy Smile to name a few. For some time, she has become increasingly involved with the interface of electronic dance music and electroacoustic music and the emergence of both genres. She incorporates this scientific approach into various radio mixes, including on Refuge Worldwide, Dublab Brazil and Rinse France.
