This playlist explores the fusion of jazz harmony with pop-rock elements and MPC drums. The drums come from a cool acoustic kit that I can play using the MPC pads. I really enjoyed incorporating quartal and extended chords, applying jazz harmony in a non-traditional way, especially since I'm not a jazz musician.

Overall, this experience was very interesting and significantly broadened my compositional horizons.

The common thread throughout the playlist is the use of jazz harmony and the exploration of the MPC's capabilities, which is a wonderful machine for any genre.

'Trust No Leaders' is a record that weaves a voyage through heavy metal history — from its roots in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal up until present day, fusing heavy metal with their signature ‘poetry performance’. Set against orchestral and cinematic soundscapes, the record also pays tribute to non-Western musical traditions, including Native American and South American folk music, Vedic chants, and Indo-Persian classical music. The lyrics bring together elements from modern theater, classical Persian poetry, to Jungian Psychology and theology. 

Commenting on the motivation behind Trust No Leaders, 
TCOMAS: "Our inspiration extends beyond musical genres and the confines of discipline.The confluence of influences in our album extend throughout time and across cultures. In retrospect, this really captures our ethos: Look back into the past for insight, and look into the future with foresight. And in doing so, we created something new of our own."

Landing about 15 months after their debut album Full Spectrum, the duo’s sophomore LP expresses a more aggressive side to the band and was recorded last summer at TCOMAS’ studio in Camden Town, London.   

Discussing the new album’s motivation, TCOMAS:
"The current crisis and the events of our time have made it necessary for us to analyse, investigate, and expose the issues in urgent need of systemic change by looking inwards into the human condition. We want the album to be a beacon of hope, for making a future that prioritises people and the environment."

It begins with a dreamy electro-acoustic entry into a psychedelic dream set to an alt funk indie rock soundtrack. The big bass sets a cool groove for the dreamy vocals and the build to the rocking break at :52. The synth lead takes you deeper into the groovy dream, accented with ripping electric guitar (1:43) and driven along by the bass groove and thumping shufflin drum beat that’ll make ya want to bounce.
