Instead of spiraling, I brought that energy into the studio, and the song poured out with my co-writers.

I've always loved the Gertrude Stein quote

I thought there might be a song in there somewhere.  When I came up with a chorus I was encouraged, but it took a while to turn it into a song.  Who knew that the piano would figure so prominently.
