Västkransen’s next release features Ella Guru, a new project from southern Stockholm by guitarist Tommy Galento (OK Star Orchestra, Galento Sound Service) and rhythm maker Daniel Strand (Bike Thieves).

The two first met in the darker months of 2021 at a jam among friends. Before long, the duo continued the sessions making playful grooves on their own. The funky blend of balearic guitars, lazy strings, caustic bass lines and rich percussions that came to life in Galento’s studio are now available on their debut EP “No Strings Attached”.

On top of the three original tracks, the release also features a remix from Basel’s Alma Negra, who transforms “No Strings Attached” into a tightly kept late-night funk groove

We've now been at this since 2010 and over the years we've really tried to deliver the kind of house music (and beyond) that we would play, listen and dance to ourselves.   We really tried to avoid the dangerous traps of following trends which in the long run can water down labels to just a music portal instead of a music brand with character. Basically, we aim to deliver our own musical personality via artists and producers that we love and respect. To sum things up, we are proud to present our second label compilation, Local Talk - 13 Years Later.
 
In part two of our 13 Years Later compilation we reached out to both regular in-house producers as well as some brand new friends on the house scene.   As always, we try and aim for a wide spectrum of styles and you'll hear everything from classic house, deep house, soulful house, dub and hip hop from some of our fave producers like Wipe The Needle, James L'Estraunge Orchestra, Damon Frost.

We also included producers like Glenn Davis, Rico Herrera, Aurelius and Caserta which we believe is doing exciting music and should be heard by many more.   

We sincerely hope you will enjoy this selection of dance MUSIC as much as we do and that there's something for everyone on our compilation.

The concept of this various artist release represents our values and beliefs in learning from
the old ways and embracing the yet-to-come. This dualistic approach of balancing two sides
and merging them on a unified path is embodied visually, sonically and philosophically. In our opinion, music and art are expressions of the soul and bridge the gap with the body. With one alone, the other is not in harmony and at peace. Therefore we thrive for a dualistic oneness of a joint acceptance and the importance of self-love and empathy for others.
Previous visual art included ancient and classical themes mixed with digital manipulation and the concept of simulation. This notion of duality and equilibrium will continue in future artistic concepts. The artwork is created by our talented Mai Willes.
