We've now been at this since 2010 and over the years we've really tried to deliver the kind of house music (and beyond) that we would play, listen and dance to ourselves.   We really tried to avoid the dangerous traps of following trends which in the long run can water down labels to just a music portal instead of a music brand with character. Basically, we aim to deliver our own musical personality via artists and producers that we love and respect. To sum things up, we are proud to present our second label compilation, Local Talk - 13 Years Later.
 
In part two of our 13 Years Later compilation we reached out to both regular in-house producers as well as some brand new friends on the house scene.   As always, we try and aim for a wide spectrum of styles and you'll hear everything from classic house, deep house, soulful house, dub and hip hop from some of our fave producers like Wipe The Needle, James L'Estraunge Orchestra, Damon Frost.

We also included producers like Glenn Davis, Rico Herrera, Aurelius and Caserta which we believe is doing exciting music and should be heard by many more.   

We sincerely hope you will enjoy this selection of dance MUSIC as much as we do and that there's something for everyone on our compilation.

Beatservice Records welcome back Third Attempt with his stunning new EP, the effervescent Norwegian artist working his compositional magic across four gorgeously compelling tracks on 'Soul Lifting'.

Torje Fagertun Spilde's productions crafted under the Third Attempt moniker have been steadily turning heads since they began appearing in 2018. Now a cherished member of the Beatservice Records family, the skilled creator has proven himself one of the most inspired artists to have emerged from Norway's rich, meta-disco lineage in recent times. Effortlessly gliding through styles and genres, his distinctive sound expertly blends nu-disco, funk, trip-hop, electronica and house, with his compositional prowess helping to set him apart from the field.

Opening cut 'Luv Star' finds him in typically inspired form. Imaginatively skirting stylistic boundaries, he demonstrates his flair for sampling as he elegantly layers atmospheric vocal chops and dexterous musical refrains. Unfolding over a sprightly broken rhythm, summery chords are embellished by carefree horns and strings as hypnotic guitar and sparkling keys augment the feel-good groove.

Next, 'Keep Your Head Up' once again demonstrates Spilde's flair for sampling, as crafty hip-hop vocals and dexterous scratches dart over soothing keys, ethereal strings and atmospheric horns. Supported by thick bass and rolling breaks, the arrangement elegantly unfolds as soulful vocals add mystique to the groove, the smokey aesthetic equally suitable for at-home meditations and backroom jamming.

Continuing the soul-heavy flex, the heartfelt refrains of 'This Love' see searing vocals and whispered words float across a life-affirming musical bed. Sparkling keys saunter over seductive chords as crisp, broken drums carry the groove, the immersive musicality demonstrating Spilde's flair for constructing powerfully affecting melodies.

'Believe' sees out the collection with a club-focused thrust, the sumptuous track combining harmonic allure with a stirring tempo that's ripe for blissful dance abandon. Classic disco guitar licks saunter over celestial strings and emotive piano chords, the soul-rich vocal embellishing the intoxicating melodies as crisp house drums power the rhythm. As ever, the music is produced to perfection, the arrangement poised to ignite the floor.

'Soul Lifting' is yet more breathtaking work from Third Attempt. Vividly displaying the very essence of his signature sound, the expansive collection is sure to enhance the artist's already glowing reputation. Simply unmissable.

Ten Fingerz delivers a strong, electronic and funky 3-tracker on his first solo EP «Fingerz Wurk». The record is a blend of the DJ's Chicago, Detroit and Paris influences. The title track is a modern take on the hip-house and acid sounds, with infectious vocals and a funky, modulated bassline. On «Jeune Rave», early Detroit techno-style synth stabs meet an acid-statured loop and thumping drum programming. A tribute to the first techno tracks to hit European raves' dancefloor in the 90s. Finally «Love spell» uses a very bouncy bassline, along with hypnotic vocals and synth loops to build an electronic climax. A DJ's pick of choice to close their set.
