@heistrecordings's Round Up Series has year on year lavished us with some truly wonderful house music. If you haven't come across the series before the concept is simple but brilliant. Heist get together all of the artists who have released with them in the previous 12 months and get them to remix each others tracks thus creating entirely new takes on some of the labels finest moments.

This years crop of artists is another mouth watering prospect as Fouk, JKriv & Peter Matson, Marina Trench, Makez, Lore of the Samurai and Felipe Gordon all line up together.

Our premier today see's @felipe-gordon take over the remix duties on one of our favourite tracks of 2021 @Jkriv and @petermatson's 'New Friend', flipping it into a deep and scintillating slice of house music.

We welcome Deep House maestro DJ Aakmael onto our roster with ‘The Hardbody Project’ EP, comprised of four original compositions from the Richmond, US-based artist.

Across the past decade and a half DJ Aakmael has unveiled an impressive back catalogue of soul-drenched, dynamic deep house via revered imprints such as Uzuri, Church, Scissor & Thread, Freerange and Second Hand Records amongst many more. Here we see his latest material perfectly interlace with our growing back catalogue of bumping house and raw deep cuts.

Leading the release is ‘Hardbody’, laid out across seven minutes with chopped brass samples, bright key sequences, modulating Moogesque resonant leads and shuffled drums before ‘Track 166’ shifts focus over to a deeper aesthetic via dubbed out chord swells, organic percussion and twinkling piano melodies.

The aptly named ‘Deepshyt’ opens the flip side, as the name would suggest employing an amalgamation of deep and entrancing synth work, crisp drums and spoken word vocal chants. ‘Strobe’ then rounds out the release with a more disco-tinged House feel, fusing together funk guitar licks, cinematic strings and a snaking bass groove atop Aakmael’s signature swinging rhythmic feel.

After the success of "All Night Brotherhood", Art Of Tones is back with a brand new EP on his own PALP imprint.
"Crazay" is the main track here, where Art Of Tones delivers once again his unique sound signature. Evolving around a funky bassline and classy guitar licks, and with its familiar, soulful vocal snippets, the track has an usual, slightly aggressive colour that makes it sound truly different from the usual disco tunes heard here and there.

Soul Groove returns to Feedasoul Records with a cracking three-tracker. Jazz at Muniaka Club brings forward Soul Groove’s signature soulful sound that we’ve grown to love. Heavily rooted in Jazz, the EP title track highlights his downtempo rhythm alongside a groove-laden bassline, and heartfelt woodwinds, balanced by atmospheric pads and synths. Was resident DJ at the weekly Blast Club in Chester since summer 1988, Quadrant Park Liverpool 90/91 , Sweet Chester , Elevate Bangor   etc etc  .. Now Djing at Electrik Disko every fortnight, and throughout the summer we are in the outside courtyard area in The Commercial Bar Wrexham. Nice sound system and great location ..puurfect.
