From the coziest speakeasy bars to the tastiest late night sandwich counters, New York City is full of delightful secrets that reward those lucky enough to find them. One of Brooklyn’s best kept secrets is Kyle Louis (fka KLM), a talented yet unassuming veteran of the underground house scene who now makes his debut with the Run It Back EP.
The third Fortune Signal label release features Louis’s impeccable original productions, in which he explores a variety of emotions, rhythms, and times of the night. Classic synths, ethereal vocal chops, and subtle dubby effects provide an overall sense of cohesion throughout.The end product is a collection of fresh, contemporary compositions rooted in classic house music language, each track full of the potential to inspire transcendent dancefloor moments. 
Run It Back is a culmination of Kyle Louis’s years spent both in the club and the studio. Louis spent nearly a decade DJing and throwing parties in NYC, sharing stages with the likes of Tom Noble, Jacques Renault, and Juan MacLean before taking a break to refocus his energy on production. His past disco edits, beloved by the DJs fortunate enough to get their hands on them, have given him an innate understanding of dance music fundamentals. These experiences have served as the foundation for Kyle Louis’s creative voice as he ushers in this exciting new chapter of his understated but vital musical journey.

On remix duties is Will Buck, a producer, DJ, and label boss well known in the NYC and Miami dance music communities, with releases on such labels as Shall Not Fade, Pleasant Systems, and Whiskey Disco. Buck flips “Should I Go?” into a down and dirty house banger that’s driven by a forceful breakbeat and punctuated with a sinister rhodes melody.

After a couple of years in the wilderness, FINA Records makes a welcome return with a fresh new five-track EP from acclaimed Japanese veteran Takuya Matsumoto. Adept at all forms of house from deep to tech to acid and – as well as landing on FINA Records back in 2015 - he has popped up on the likes of Media Fury and Clone, most recently dropping his devastatingly good tribute to the hey days, the 85-88 EP on Clone’s Jack For Daze Holland in October.

On the ‘Tape Is Rewound EP’, Matsumoto shows his full range demonstrating some low-slung rawness, elegant hi-tech soul, and feel-good sample heavy deepness on the A-side. On the flip he rolls out some dubby acid and a fat-bottomed, party-starting looper. It’s not often you get so much genuine variety and so many irresistible grooves all inside one package!

This is the splendid deep follow up EP by our favorite Liverpool artist Petals In Sound. After her great label debut last summer where she already showed us her wonderful atmospheric electronic sound, she now continues on a journey through that same spaced-out house territory. “Dial Tone” and “Lush” are both laid back groovers that sooth every dancefloor and are perfect late, or better, early hours tunes to steer dancers gently towards sunrise and out of smoke filled clubs, homewards with warm musical memories of a danced and spaced out night.

“The Sea and Everything in It” is a personal fave here as it combines great percussive rhythms with her unique style, arpeggios and dark synths electronica, deep like a warm spring day. The outdoor raves will be a perfect setting for this one! Last we asked our other new label member Pete Bandit from Berlin to remix “Lush”. With his own debut “Wild Feelings” he already set the tone showcasing his expert percussive and driving house sound. Here again he turned the original into a loopy “New York House” style jam with cool funky drums that fit in perfectly with the other tracks and make this whole EP a tight and delightful package. Now Djing at Electrik Disko every fortnight, and throughout the summer we are in the outside courtyard area in The Commercial Bar Wrexham. Nice sound system and great location ..puurfect.
