Gax (aka Stephen Gakneras) is a Los Angeles based Dj that has been a passionate music lover throughout his life and is now bringing his love to the electronic music dance floors. His style of jackin house, which includes a funky mixture of soulful, tech and jazzy elements goes down smooth like your morning coffee and keeps your feet moving all night long.
Gax has been a dedicated musician since age 9. His repertoire includes four instruments essential to house music: violin, guitar, drums and trumpet. Gax was first exposed to electronic music in 1998 through friends that introduced him to trance mega-stars like Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Tiesto.
In 2004 Gax attended his first electronic music event , Insomniac’s Nocturnal festival, and in 2005 after watching DJ Dan at that same festival his life and musical tastes took a drastic turn. Experiencing Dj Dan’s funky house style inspired Gax to pursue house music, and after attending various other house music events he developed a passion for house and a dream of becoming a Dj. "After seeing many funky house Djs I found that electronic music was my passion and that is the direction in music that I wanted to go."
In 2010 Gax began to chase his dream full force through diligent practice behind the decks, thorough study of the house music genre, and playing as many gigs as he could book. In just one year he has brought his funky style to the dance floors of the Vanguard, King King, Detroit Bar, Counter Culture 2 festival in Chico, CA, various rocking house parties and has played as a guest star on beatfreaksradio.com. He is also soon to be a guest star on the Star Sessions radio show on insoulwetrust.com.
Gax frequents clubs like the Vanguard, King King, Focus, Philter, Secret Cinema, and Deep in search of new inspirations to help him progress his style so that he may take his dance floor experience to new heights. He lists house greats such as Dj Dan, Dj Heather, Dj Sneak, Sonny Fodera, Wally Callerio, Mark Farina, Dj Mes, Giom, and Fred Everything as some of his biggest influences as well as many other house legends.
Gax is also a passionate web developer and computer science major at Long Beach State University. Recently he has teamed up with fellow LA based house DJ and good friend No Requests (aka Tyler Withrow) to form Phunk Phenomenon. Gax said being motivated, ambitious, goal-driven and passionate about the music he plays drives him to constantly work to improve his sound and provide his listeners with an exciting and unique funky house experience. He plans to start production on his own tracks in the next six months and has dreams of touring the country spreading his funky house style across America.

Marie Nyx is a Los Angeles–based DJ, producer, and label head whose sound bridges electro, techno, and experimental electronica with roots in post-punk, new wave, and darkwave. She has brought her infectious, high-energy style to stages at HARD Summer, CRSSD Festival, Insomniac events, and prominent underground institutions like The Lot Radio. With releases on Delusional Records, Boysnoize Records, Obskur Music, Synthetik Sounds, Hidden Symbols, and Dark Heaven, Marie continues to push boundaries as both an artist and tastemaker. In 2025, she founded Synr, a label dedicated to forward-thinking electro, techno, and experimental sounds, solidifying her place as a driving force in the underground electronic scene.
