GECKO -That Time of Year

Hi, Im a singer songwriter just getting started on soundcloud.  I have written over 20 songs now.  I guess my genre is kind of folky!  I write songs bout my life events, mainly "protest" or "comedy"!  My influences come from singer songwriters such as Bonnie Rait, Patty Griffin, Joni Mitchell, Amy McDonald for serious/protest songs and artists such as Victoria Wood, fascinating Aida, Richard Digance and Bill Bailey among many other genius song writers for comedy.  Im also known as 4 chords Zanny (but Im practicing and learning new cords and instruments).  Im learning all the time, but the bottom line is I love writing songs and if you like them then that's just brilliant!!!!  This site is a very much work in progress, I just got my hands on a zoom and cubase so as you will see everything is very raw (except for the songs performed by Eric Whibley).  The aim is to make a catalog of my songs and take it from there (hopefully improve along the way).  I move beteen Bury St Edmunds in the UK and Chania, Crete, both places can be inspirational in terms of songwriting. Gecko has previously appeared at Glastonbury, Bestival, Pinkpop in the Netherlands and the London 2012 Olympics, as well as being showcased on the Radio 1 Breakfast show as part of BBC Introducing. Gecko videos have been tweeted by the likes of Ed Sheeran and his music has been used on BBC THREE TV.
