مرگِ نه‌چندان مهمِ یک شاعر
ذهنم مثِ یه معدنِ طلاس
که نمی‌دونم باش چی‌کار کنم
قطعه‌های پلکانو دارم 
نمی‌تونم رو هم سوار کنم

مثِ کسی که نفت پیدا کرده
اما رو یه سیاره‌ی دیگه
یا شاعری که رازِ بودنو 
به یه زبانِ مُنقرض می‌گه

توو این هزارتووها جلو میرم
با چشمایی که خوااب می‌بینن
بدبختانه واقعیت‌ها رُ 
با پلکای کتااب می‌بینن

صاحبِ حجمی از خلاقیت 
ملبس به جین و بِلَک تی‌شرت
با یه ماگِ سَر پُر از کافئین 
در حلقه‌یِ گفت‌وگوهای چِرت

باورمو هر روز می‌سنجم
به افتضاحِ مُطلقِ هستی
به منطقِ لَنگِ لَقِ رفیق 
در تاکسیای جهلِ دربستی

توو بدنی که پوسیده می‌شه 
گُنجایشِ مشکوکِ چَن حدس‌ام
مالیخولیا وار خوشحالم 
از جمع‌و‌ضربِ حُسنِ هر نقص‌ام

ابهاممو ابراز می‌کنم 
به معنیِ موجودِ توو چیزا
به ایده‌آلیستیِ زنده‌بودن 
که منو سَر دُئونده تا حالا

به خیلی از بارونا بدبینم 
وقتی کسی لای کارتُن خوابه
چه نفعی توو تفسیر می‌شه دید؟
از این حقیقت که انتخابه

خودباوریمو سخت می‌فهمم 
که سُسته مثلِ یه صف توو سرما
توو این هزارتووها جلو میرم 
با بپر بپر کردنِ درجا

فکرای نو توی سرم دارم 
اما همه می‌خوان تکرار کنم
ذهنم مثِ یه معدنِ طلاس 
که کاش می‌شد ازش فرار کنم

The Not-so-Important Death of a Poet
With a thousand ideas in my mind,
 it's like a gold mine I don't know what to do with
I have the parts to build a stairway,
 and yet I'm helplessly trying

Like someone who has found oil in his land,
 but it's on another planet
Or a poet who writes about the secret behind life,
 but in an extinct language

I walk through the labyrinth,
 with these sleepy daydreaming eyes
Eyes that see the world through these illusionary lens

The owner of much wisdom and talent,
 dressed in jean and a black shirt
With a mug full of caffeine, 
surrounded with pointless conversations

I reconsider my beliefs day after day,
 in this absolute mess of a universe
All with the illogical nature of these friends,
 sitting in these god-forsaken cabs

In a body which is rotting away,
 I'm a man of peculiar suspicions 
I'm happy in a quite melancholic way; 
The result of all the wrong equations

I express all my ambiguities to the meaning of all things lonely
To the idealistic way of life,
 which has had me wrapped aroud its fingers

I'm too cynical about the rain,
 when there's someone sleeping out there in boxes
What good does interpretation do? 
from this truth that's our only choice

I hardly know how to have high self-esteem,
 something which is shakey in these cold street queues
I walk through these labyrinths, 
with idle jumps right where I'm standing

Thoughts swirl around in my head, 
but they all want me to repeat things over
My mind is like a gold mine,
 wished I had a way to escape
