Voices From The Lake are Donato Dozzy and Neel, a duo that has redefined techno in both the live arena and the album format. Their debut full-length album for Prologue was widely heralded as a masterpiece for the way it displayed an incredible ear for sound design while painting vivid, multi-layered landscapes of slowly unfolding rhythm and texture. When playing live in serene environments like Japan's Labyrinth Festival, the pair explore experimental underwater sounds, African drumming, and minimalism while keeping the dancefloor in motion. 
 
In July of 2012, Voices From The Lake came from Rome to Brooklyn to present a special night of music at The Bunker in the back room of Public Assembly.  This was one of the greatest nights of music in the history of The Bunker.  Their tremendous six-hour set consisted of two separate live sets, and back-to-back DJ sets.  None of the music from the either of the hour-long live sets had been released, so we immediately got on them about their plans for the tracks.  We agreed on our favorite segments, and they produced live studio tracks based on those excerpts.  A few Voices From The Lake tracks have come out since the album, but this is their first full release since 2012.

This is a live set contribution to the Modyfier Process Series. If you aren't familiar, Modyfier is a really unique electronic music blog that collects contributions of varying kinds--live sets, DJ sets, single tracks, a few tracks, whatever the artist feels like contributing. Along with the music, the contributor writes a kind of "artist's statement" about their piece; not necessarily about the production or technicalities of making it, but more about the vision and creative drive behind it.

Marco Shuttle is very much part of the Spazio Disponibile label family: he's put out his Systhema album and various EPs with Donato Dozzy and Neel in the last couple of years, and now the Eerie boss serves up more of his immersive techno excellence.

He starts off in slow motion, with the roomy ambiance and slightly spooky dub of 'Ritmo Elegante.' Of course it's a track carefully filled with little sonic details that make it a very real place to be. 'Arpex' then switches things up with a super urgent, super supple acidic techno rhythm thats overlaid with a widescreen arp that sapiens space and time, and 'Stairway To The Milky Way' is a half time stepper though some trippy sci-fi jungle before 'Qatarsi' rides on a floating groove as sound effects pan all around you and traps you in a state of trance. These are expressive, hard to define and excellent electronics once again from Marco Shuttle.

Rare are appearances of Dj Pete as a producer. More known with his pseudonym Substance, officially Dj Pete has released in 30 years of career only one EP on Surgeon's label in 2001: Counterbalance. 18 years later he's back with a remix for a mysterious producer. 
Release limited to 100 copies and available only at Hardwax and our Bandcamp on monday 16th.

FRACTURE XXX _ Unknown - Untitled (Dj Pete remix)

It has been rapid rise for Italian brothers Fabrizio & Matteo Floris. Producing as Mr. Bizz the duo's early releases for Frisbee Tracks and Muticolor Recording found good support, however it was their 2009 production 'Eternity' that really put them on map. Signed to Cocoon, it featured on the Ten Years Of Cocoon compilation mixed by Dubfire and Loco Dice and was a highlight of that summer season. Into 2010 and Mr. Bizz were in full flow, signing releases to Tuning Spork and Resopal Schallware and turning their remix talents on Hakan Lidbo. Since then its been a flurry of releases. Ep's for Octopus Recordings, Deeperfect and Material Series and remixes for the likes of Mauro Picotto, Hermanez, Pig&Dan, Stefano Noferini and Yello. The heavy beat patterns and sinister vocals have defined Mr. Bizz's original style and are to the fore here again on their SCI+TEC debut, 'Reversion EP'.
