On the one hand we have all these great artists breaking the limits of the creation of sounds and sequences with these incredible patches created via max/msp, supercollider, modular digital/analog, Kyma even some of them build their own interfaces... incredible times.

On the other hand we have those who use this technology and everything they have learned/heard from the most avant-garde territory and try to provide it with more organic sounds and to give it, we could say, something of a human soul to all this revolution that we are experiencing.

For us Noxin is a master at this.
With this Album you will have the best of both worlds, a new approach to the most avant-garde sound, but all molded in a very organic and subtle way.

"The third installment of our bi-annual Vanishing Standards compilation series closes the year of our fifteenth anniversary. As usual, we wanted to have as many members of our extended family aboard as possible, as well as welcome new ones into it. Of course, they are in the company of Amek regulars, whom, whenever we could, we tried to inspire to work in new collaborations and configurations. The result is not only the shortest volume in the series but also the first one dominated by atmospheric, yet noisy, tracks that are punctuated with some unexpected heavy hitters."

Endless Pit (ft. Niandraz)

After Markus Guentner and Joachim Spieth's first joint album, "Overlay", was released last October, there is now a 10" lathe cut limited to thirty pieces, which will be released on February 2nd.

"Overlay Variations" uses elements that were taken exclusively from the album and puts them together to create completely new pieces of music. The recording is delivered with a print that shows the front of the cover and is hand-numbered on the back.

Furthermore, this 10" represents the start of a series that will be completed by the end of the year...

Nearly one solar return since our last Distant Arrays adventure, it felt necessary to make an inevitable comeback to the series that helped us expand our label across the music sphere. This edition continues to build on the foundation of what makes this project so special: welcoming experimental artists from different parts of the world to come together and push sonic boundaries in a genre-free setting.

We begin with the return of our distant friend who resides over 10,000 kilometers away from the Satellite Era HQ - representing the beautiful destination of Nagano is Japanese artist Ton Mise. With previous work on underground imprints such as Eerik Inpuj Sound stateside and NoDiscoRecords from Japan, his diversity in sound has only grown with his catalog over time. Influenced by earlier renditions of trip-hop and ambient, he approaches experimental music with a warmer and more lush perspective. Blending dusty synths with heavy percussive elements, “Ait6 U1” is a great example of his unique take on moody electronica.

A year after his contribution to our last label showcase, we welcome Romanian producer Hexalyne onto our collective. With standout releases on household experimental labels such as Evel Records and Kaer’Uiks, his darker approach to braindance caught our attention years ago. Fans of Autechre, Phoenecia, and many others in that realm will feel right at home with “Invicate.” The track takes synthesized drums and coats them with glitched-out tones throughout the stereo space, creating a rhythmic yet spaced-out feeling as it progresses.

Over three years since appearing on our first-ever Distant Arrays compilation, we have brought back Portland-based producer Naudible to contribute a high-octane track filled with shifting breakbeats. Although “Vase” contains elements recognizable in some of our favorite older subgenres like breakcore and drill 'n' bass, its most outstanding quality is the variance in sampling. The song feels like a sound collage that incorporates vocals from hip-hop, outdoor foley recordings, and a barrage of different drums that are cleverly layered together throughout the frantic few minutes.

Finally, we welcome another new face to the label with Spanish producer AZ-Rotator. Known for generating some of the most eclectic modular and programmed sounds that we have heard thus far, he has already established a name for himself in the niche experimental community. “Tr4ns_v4” is no different from his renowned formula - it boasts unpredictable, metallic drums fused with grueling bass occasionally entering the soundscape. The result is an appreciable summary of the entire compilation and proper ending to it.

Distant Arrays is an immersive showcase of our audio/visual capabilities as a collective. We are honored to introduce you to our growing team, continuously expanding our newfound interpretation of sound.

A massive blast at al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza killed nearly 500 Palestinians, triggering global outrage at the slaughter of people, many of whom were taking shelter from nearly two weeks of relentless Israeli bombing of the besieged enclave.

Palestinian officials have accused Israel of bombing the hospital while Tel Aviv has blamed Gaza-based armed groups for the horrific explosion .

The al-Ahli Arab Hospital is located in Gaza’s Old City between the Shujaiya and Zeitoun neighbourhoods in Gaza City.

There have been over 115 attacks on healthcare in Palestine since the start of the conflict on October 7, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

At least 20 hospitals in Gaza City and North Gaza and one hospital in Rafah have received repeated evacuation orders from the Israeli military, and 77 attacks have been documented in the West Bank, 43 of these attacks have caused physical violence to health teams.

“Gaza’s medical infrastructure has been irreparably damaged and healthcare providers are working in a dire situation with limited access to medical supplies and conditions that do not allow them to provide timely and quality healthcare,” said Tlaleng Mofokeng, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health.

enclosures, for chamber ensemble and electronics, explores a combination of reverberant spaces via custom reverbs that echo, mimic and allude to different sections of Bachelard’s Poetics of Space. 

The tape brings together a collection of convolution reverbs containing impulse responses I have collected from my home, environment, and most intimately, from my body. The piece is made up of three movements with live electronics that act as scaffolding for the ensemble to inhabit. The score unfolds in loose time, asking performers to activate each of these three environments using their own directory of flexible, composed materials. The three main movements are separated by two miniature acoustic “doorway” movements that act as portals, moving the ensemble between intimate and expansive spaces, from corners to cavities. Tracing the path from nests and corners to intimate immensity, I combine reverbs to transport and transpose the ensemble through a number of spaces, from that of my chest cavity, to that of hybrid in/outdoor environments, grasping at both real and imaginary spaces.

Burial’s 2013 track “Come Down to Us” ends with an audio sample from a speech Lana Wachowski gave when she received the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award. When receiving the award, Wachowski speaks to her experience coming out as transgender through the metaphor of space and access. The sample ends with Wachowski stating, “this world that we imagine in this room might be used to gain access to other rooms, other worlds, previously unimaginable.” This piece is about inhabiting a space between, the queer middle, eliding the imaginable and unimaginable, possible and impossible.

"Various Arias" is a slow-paced ambient album where each piece is composed of two intertwining loops recorded on tape. All the effects derive from various pedals during the recording process; only some EQ adjustments were made to tame certain resonant frequencies. A full mix was intentionally avoided to preserve the raw and emotive qualities characteristic of Lamasz’s music.
