International Tribe is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian.

This week’s International Tribe mix comes from Urulu. 

The brand of house music that Taylor Freels produces as Urulu is uniquely transatlantic, infusing the rhythmic sensibilities of London and Berlin with the sun-soaked serenity of his native California. With evocative, retro-futuristic productions that showcase a stripped back, classic feel, Urulu's sounds are a throwback to the lost generation of classic groove-makers.

The Californian producer has dropped acclaimed releases on respected imprints such as NYC's Let's Play House and Melbourne’s Voyage Recordings, as well as taste-making outlets such as Needwant, Shabby Doll and Spanish outfit Saft/Pulp. He also runs his own label Amadeus Records, which has released music from the likes of Huerta, Chaos in the CBD and many more. For his International Tribe mix, Urulu explores electric pulsations with multiple unreleased gems from the man himself.

At a young age Jazzdee was introduced to Funk, Disco and Hip Hop. “When i was young a collective in my hometown was promoting parties with local Funk and Hip Hop acts. Through them I got my interests in scratching and vinyl.”

It makes him a versatile artist at the moment delivering numerous timeless dj sets at places like Kiosk Radio or his own Jazzdee invites events. “As a tenor sax player i will try to put my time in creating new music, as a designer i would love to combine my passion for music and design and create a mixer.”  -- Remember the name!
