In expectation of the Amsterdam Dance Event 2013, Europe's biggest dance event, Balkan Connection Records proudly presents a compilation with 9 exclusive tracks from some of our best artists. 

It was a little more than a year ago when the Dutch based producers Yoram, Sjoerd Korsuize, Oscar Holgado and Marc Pollen hooked up after 'meeting' through SoundCloud. Their progressive style in producing music and their passion for music in general was the foundation of a new friendship. Balkan Connection has already spread their wings towards South America years ago, but the Balkan sounds are now popular worldwide and also in the Netherlands. So why not go to Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Dance Event? Everybody that means anything in dance music must be in Amsterdam during these 5 days in October! So also Balkan Connection with some of their finest.

Now, after months of preparation Balkan Connection is very proud to present to you this compilation. The artists that are represented on this compilation bring the East and West together in a very progressive manner. The East is represented by Jelly For The Babies & Odison (Serbia), Vanyano (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Ewan Rill and Magnetic Brothers (Russian Federation), and Stas Drive (Ukraine). Yoram, Sjoerd Korsuize, Oscar Holgado and Marc Pollen represent the West from Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Dance Event is all about meeting new people from all over the world who share a common passion: electronic dance music, so please check out our vision on progressive house and let's talk about it over a beer in October!

Balkan Connection would like to express gratitude to all the artists that participated on this compilation. Special thanks goes to Marc Pollen for bringing some of the Netherlands finest artists with their exclusive music, as well as doing the mastering part for some of them.

When you’ve already asked an artist six times for an EP, you just know there’s something special about his music. We’re glad to welcome you once again into the world of Remcord.

With his Sura EP the French producer takes the concept of ‘less is more’ to a whole new level. His minimalistic approach on electronic music translates itself into three immersive melodic house tracks.  With the title- and opening track ‘Sura’ Remcord raises the bar in terms of psychedelic atmospheres. ‘Jalo’ on the other hand is the kind of track that hypnotizes a whole dancefloor with its warm and emotional synth chords. Last but not least ‘Tera’ is characterized by the endless arpeggio that floats through the extremely well crafted musical composition.

With this EP Remcord proves again why he’s one of the most promising French producers out there at the moment!

Get Physical’s ‘Body Language’ is one of dance music’s most essential and enduring mix compilation series. April 13th will see the release of the latest instalment, this time compiled and mixed by Aero Manyelo and featuring 15 tracks, nine of which are brand new and exclusive offerings.

Aero Manyelo is a prominent South African DJ and producer who has spent more than a decade in the scene, recently working as part of the Johannesburg musical collective Batuk, he is now back, focusing on his solo sound once more. In that time his organic
house sound has landed on Sound Pellegrino and Herbal 3 Records as well as on the Africa Gets Physical compilation with his ‘Mooki’ track, which became a firm favourite of Dixon and Damian Lazarus.

He kicks off the superb mix with one of his own exclusive tracks, ‘Man to Many’, alongside Fluida. It’s a tribal cut with chanting and rousing synths that sets an absorbing atmosphere from the off. Label favourites Bedouin then take things down into their trademark deep desert house territory and Constantijn Lange brings a magical sense of melody to his mature and musical ‘Mapleseed Rhinos.’

A run of standout exclusives continue to offer differing house styles that range from playful and loose (Myazisto) to late night and woozy (Martin Waslewski) via slowed down and jumbled (Aero Manyelo), with Just Her then stepping things up with a
scintillating tech house track in ‘Tabula Rasa’.

Manyelo then offers another fantastic new cut, ‘Taking Long’, which finds him in a driving house mood and layering in meandering, thoughtful pads. The remaining exclusives come from Laolu and in the form of two remixes from Manyelo which show off his majestic synth craft. Things wrap up in moody style with slick tech from M.A.N.D.Y. and a twisted, downbeat cut from Pier Bucci.

This is another standout entry into the definitive Body Language mix series.

Freedo Mosho returns to Electronic Groove with the groovesome ‘Pied Piper’. Remixes come from SHFT, and Roger Martinez.
Freedo’s original sizzles with tension as sonic motifs playfully shift attention underpinned by crisp percussion and a gut-shaking reese bass.
New Delhi-based SHFT has been making increasingly large waves in the Techno underground with music signed to a dizzying range of quality imprints. Here he focuses on delivering a deep, hypnotic vibe utilising Freedo’s clever sound design.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2022 and beyond. To celebrate the occasion, the label will reissue some of its most classic tracks, host special anniversary events and release a new range of merchandise in collaboration with Australian brand One Teaspoon. Get Physical has already made a huge contribution to the history of contemporary house music, but rest assured the German label still has plenty more to say.
