With the season well underway, Get Physical is hitting the ground running with the 18th edition of Full Body Workout. If case you’ve been living under a rock the last decade, Full Body Workout aims to shine a spotlight on some of the hottest rising and established talent for their take on where the scene is now, and where it might be headed. So finding tracks by visionaries like Pezzner, NIBC and Nils Hoffman shouldn’t come as a surprise. The compilation opens with a floor-moving tech-house groove from Supernova to set everything into motion. Quickly following is Pezzner with ‘Julie’, a small shift down in energy initially, only to rise to peak time levels over the course of the track. Eagles & Butterflies then shakes down the floor with a percussion driven beauty, ‘Awakening’. Nils Hoffman up next. The young German producer delivers a stunning track full of bass swells and calls it ‘Storms’. Hold out for the elegant piano lines in the break, a brilliant contrast to the dark and heavy bass surrounding it. Now we’ve reached the halfway point, and we don’t want to spoil the surprises to come from the likes of NIBC, Kevin Yost (who’s skillfully pulled of the continuous mix here as well), Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki, P41, Hawie and Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. Sutja Gutierrez.

Heavily influenced by the sounds of the underground, “Questions” is an exploration of the duo’s passion for deep tech house with precisely engineered deep driving baselines paired with beautiful melodies and the intensely charged vocal hook. The track will feel at home on an Ibiza beachfront day club as much as it will on a dark 5am dance floor. 

Notably this has already gained support from a plethora of huge producers with the likes of FEDDE LE GRAND, MAOR LEVI, STONEBRIDGE and ZOO BRAZIL heaping on the praise! 

Tying off this tight little package is Melbourne based techno enthusiast AUGMENTED, who’s first-rate remix takes us a whole lot deeper and darker for those late nite sets. 

Overall this is an excellent debut from this duo for lovers of an underground vibe.

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

“You know it's true, don't you?" You know it's true, sometimes emotions can be darn unsettling and disturbing – as they flow deep down our consciousness uncovering fears, thoughts and feelings. Yes, if we're focused too much on our personal hedonistic euphorias, sometimes we lose that... It gets lost; You know it's true. You may know it's true.

Manfredi Romano aka Dj Tennis shapes this treasure, a release that is decisively out of the box; a small cathedral made of subtle shades and unusual EQ's, where ideas seduce and frighten.

That's “Divisions”, led by Danish singer and guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg. Who's words and voice are carefully crafted as a precious, poisoning weapon of concern and bewilderment; as it is “Chirality” a deep, insistent, gelid voyage. Which distinctively in this round, We find ourselves not only with Tennis' masterful production skills but also the astounding addition of Sophie Trudeau's string work – she's been the driving force behind the string sections of legendary Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You Black Emperor, one of the most dark, cinematic and unsettling rock acts of the last decades – which really ads a poignant and visionary mood and emotions we rarely encounter and by that we can rarely breathe.

The original edits have been respectfully and creatively revisited by techno pioneer Roman Flügel, who masterfully rubs “Divisions”; turning it into a sensual, devious, laid down affaire. Lastly, closing the ride , the legendary English duo Plaid - true masters and innovators within the Intelligent Dance Music field- grace “Chirality” with their very own touch made of alien sounds, mutant rhythm architectures, warm dynamics and heartbreaking melodic caresses that iconically represents their visions.

Travels through misty soundscapes are just one of their trademarks. The french label established its sound through a close circle of friends - namely, Worakls, N’to & Joachim Pastor.

It’s now time to let some of the most powerful recent releases get re-interpreted through six exclusive remixes.

Soulfooled, lovingly curated since its inception in 2010 by the outstanding German producer & DJ, Alex Niggemann, has steadily established itself as a crucial platform for fresh talent. The label’s focus is always on sonic innovation and search- ing out unfailingly original musical gems, and, in the process, developing its own distinctive brand of music.
Alex Niggemann’s impressive A&R skills were once again highlighted when Dresden’s enigmatic Felkon, released his excellent, mind-bending debut track (“Creixell”) on last sum- mer’s “Soulfooled Cribs Vol.2 EP” (the second instalment of the exciting format that brings the ever-evolving Soulfooled family together). The resulting furore has now led to Felkon returning with a trio of absolutely stunning creations for his “Cry Wolf” EP.
The pulsating, infectiously percussive “Cry Wolf” opens pro- ceedings, layered with super-seductive ebbing and  owing melodic waves, and building towards a plateau of beauti- fully subtle, scarily spooky energy. Meanwhile, the equally engrossing “Eos” has its own distinct identity, pirouetting majestically around another masterclass of subtle, melodic, rhythmic beauty.
“Selene” expands the theme of melody within rhythm even further, with its gorgeous, heart-melting motifs. A wonderful hint of melancholic re ection, serves to create an atmosphere for the track that renders it in one’s subconscious way after its  nal notes have faded from the speakers.
As a teenager Felkon got his  rst experience of being on stage with “Die Pilger”, a fun punk band from his hometown of Dresden, Germany. After the band broke up in 2010, he took his  rst steps into the world of producing electronic music, a process that has evolved to now also playing live sets and DJ sets throughout Europe. Having previously released the “Sunset Stories EP” (Blossom Kollektiv) and the aforementioned “Creixell” (Soulfooled), his new “Cry Wolf” will surely mark Felkon out as major new talent to watch
out for throughout 2016 and beyond, proving what a great discovery he is.
With an ever-growing family of superb artists in their “crib” and stunning releases like this on the agenda, Soulfooled continues to grow into one of the  nest labels around.

m.O.N.R.O.E., one of Get Physical’s latest family additions returns with another EP aimed at charging the night. ‘Seeing Things’ is a 2 track EP showcasing 2 different vibes.

Opening things on a sweet note is the title track, first a stir then a thump and a beautiful vocal steps in briefly. From there the track builds itself on its dreamy arpeggios, which give it a slightly nervous energy while still delivering a serious hustle on the dancefloor. Next up is ‘Violina’, who’s name might give us some clues as to what’s inside. Laying low in comparison, the b-side feels like almost like an after-hour track, with pads drifting throughout and the groove doing its thing under that. As the name suggests, we’re treating with warm pianos and other natural sounds as the track chugs along through the early morning hours. All in all, another example of the young producers’ affinity for quality dance music.

The original “Sad Robot” collaboration between Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur was heaped with acclaim when it first appeared on John Digweed’s Bedrock label a year ago. This sparkling gem of a track pushed all the right buttons with a euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out, and now the label is set to take the story to the next level with 3 diverse, exciting new remixes.

The enigmatic Rich Lane from Newcastle Under Lyme (who also records under aliases such as Original Disco Thing and Chug Norris) has been gaining plaudits for his musical creations that loosely fall into the realms of what are variously tagged “Slo-Mo”, “Chug”, “Nu-Disco” and even “NEW New Beat”. Hailing from the current hotbed of exciting musical evolution, Argentina’s Alejo Gonzalez (renowned for his show on Radio 90.3FM Delta) has joined forces with fellow DJ and producer Max Blade to create a beautifully melancholic interpretation of “Sad Robot”, a perfect, understated finale for this remix package. Third Son’s ‘Roboturner' has caused quite a ruckus online. Revealed on soundcloud as one of his “white label tracks”, it’s featured in most of Third Son’s sets for the past 6 months, and there’s a reason for that.

The dance-floor aimed beat packs a serious punch. Complete with the artists signature analogue bass sound, unmistakable drums, and eerie late night mid section, expect to be hearing this one on repeat in the clubs for some time. A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform.
