We’ve had the pleasure to release music by some amazing artists in 2021 and with The Round Up part 8, we’re bringing you remixes of some of our label regulars such as Fouk & Makèz and present you some fresh faces that have made a huge impact on the scene in recent years such as New York disco dons Jkriv & Peter Matson, Colombian house royalty Felipe Gordon. Completing the package are Parisian house aficionado Marina Trench and Lore of the samurai, an alter ego of a rather prolific and well-known house producer.   
 
Jkriv & Peter Matson have taken on Fouk’s undercover hit ‘Money’ and have turned the acid-nu disco of the original into a bubbling funk affair, complete with guitar licks and new synth licks. Makèz take the jazz-funk vibe of their debut album ‘City of all’ to give a whole new perspective on Marina Trench’s track ‘Wake up’. The vocals -courtesy of French-Algerian singer Sabrina Bellaouel -, jazzy horns and synthy noodles are layered on a mellow broken beat that form an altogether dreamy effect.  
 
Staying in the broken beat realm, we’ve got Fouk re-imagining Lore of the samurai’s track ‘Justifice’. Warm pads, cowbells and arpeggios turn this funk-fueled tune into a deep and soothing house track. Marina Trench’s remix of Felipe Gordon acid monster ‘Highly corrosive acid’ sees her adding her own vocal chops and adding an infectious house groove. On the heady end of things, we’ve got Felipe Gordon delivering an extremely smooth rework of Jkriv & Peter Matson’s track ‘New Friend’. Closing the package is Lore of the samurai with a classic house take on Makèz’ album title track ‘City of all’ where a beefy Moog-like bass leads the way with the energy of a thousand clubbing-starved ravers.  
 
We hope this package gives a nice twist to another great year of releases on Heist. Play it loud and dance like nobody’s watching.

In the early nineties, DJ Pierre would release a track that would come to define a sound and serve as a precedent for its genre. Now ‘Let Music Take You High’ is back on Get Physical Music. 
Laid in the capable hands of some of our top talent, we present five outstanding remixes alongside the 'Original Yo Yo’ and 'Vocal’ mixes, including DJ Pierre’s new Wild PiTcH Mix. And speaking of, the first stop is the new Wild PiTcH Mix, where DJ Pierre has turned up the intensity and thrown a fair bit of grit in for good measure. Curated for the modern dancefloor, the track delivers a strong punch and a seductive groove. 
Kevin Over takes the track into a darker, more ominous direction – worthy of the underground – while displaying a brilliant feel for the house rhythm. 
Midway through and we’ve got Olivier Giacomotto’s remix up. Laying down a very inviting atmosphere down before catching us with a grungy bassline sequence, the track is a step in a new direction, using the vocal element sparingly yet cleverly. 
Before treating us to the muted crunch of the bassline, System of Survival first enchant us with a warm and soothing intro. 
The final remix come from one of Brazil’s finest; Davis. He’s gone heavy here, throwing down a kick made for the hungry floors. From here on it’s pure magic, a delicate blend of techno and house that almost lands closer to techno than house.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house.
