Tracktober 021:  Captain Mushroom in C minor at 120BPM

Day 21 of my Tracktober challenge 🎃 — every day this month I’m writing and posting a track sketch. These are works-in-progress (WIP), not finished mixes (I only put max 2 hours into each one!) — the goal is to practice showing up daily, experiment with new ideas, and share the creative process openly instead of waiting until everything is “perfect.”

• Concept: Take a MIDI out of a sample and retinker it! 
• What I practiced: compositon, synth/sound design

• Imperfections: Much happier with how this one turned out, and i think it REALLY needs a fun melody—definitely want to play more later. 
• Influences: My burner bestie and favorite Cookie Monster Michael Lubrano, who knows that what doesn’t “do do do” makes you stronger. (iykyk)

Riding hot on the tail of summer is one of our favorite times of year, ADE season. It’s always a huge pleasure to be a part of the festivities and we thought it would be a good idea to bring some music to the party. So with that, we happily present Amsterdam Gets Physical 2016. Sixteen tracks (including a continuous mix) are up for grabs this time. Rife with classics from Black Coffee feat. Toshi, Blunted Dummies, DJ Pierre, WhoMadeWho, El Mundo & Satori, M.A.N.D.Y., Radio Slave and many, many more – not to mention 3 new exclusive’s from Dance Spirit, Dürerstuben and Andre Salata. We’re super excited for this year’s event (we hope you are too!) and think we have a put together a pretty solid selection this time. So get there any way you can and let’s celebrate this together.

We proudly present the second release from Discos Aquelarre, It's no doubt this release showcases an array of unique melodies and organic South American sounds. Title track 'Sex Sex' offers an array of dreamy synths woven between trippy vocals. On the remix Blankhaus boss Luis Leon takes the sound into a deeper state with rolling ominous bass. Meanwhile, Ku$h serves an ideal version of raw sound and lo-fi perfect for the after party, while Aristidez re arrenge the song from a more psychedelic point of view with tribal touches with an exquisite result.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene.
