Definitive Recordings continues its commitment to bridging classic house energy with the sound of today, as St. David steps up with a bold and banging remix of ‘Good Music’, the iconic 2011 release by John Acquaviva, Alex D’Elia, Nihil Young, featuring the unmistakable vocals of Dan Diamond.

Reimagining the original through his signature lens of groove and analog flavor, St. David transforms ‘Good Music’ into a timeless house smasher, anchored by a powerful bassline and a shuffling rhythm that keeps the floor moving from the first bar. While the heart of the original, Dan Diamond’s vocal, remains at the forefront, St. David injects new life with rolling drums and the addition of classic piano chords that gradually build into a peak-time weapon.

Known for his remixes of Las Americas’ ‘Do It’ on Definitive, St. David is quickly becoming one of the genre’s most respected tastemakers. Born in Bari, Italy in 1991, he draws deep inspiration from the American house tradition, combining soulful, vintage textures with club-ready grooves. His vinyl-only label, Theory of Swing Records, is his personal homage to 90s house, and his releases frequently hit the top of vinyl charts around the world.

The mastermind behind Basic Channel, Hard Wax and Rhythm & Sound doesn't do mixes. For RA.1000, he made an exception.

Trace Mark Ernestus's path, and you trace the evolution of electronic sound itself. The timeline of contemporary Berlin is unimaginable without him. At first, that meant Hard Wax, the crucial hub that shaped the early era of the city's techno revolution. Carl Craig once said it plainly: "Mark was ground zero."

From there, Ernestus never stopped. There's the birth of dub techno and the near-flawless catalogue that followed through Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound. There's his immersion in Senegalese mbalax with Ndagga Rhythm Force. Lately, that means Open Ground the Wuppertal bunker that's letting people hear music as never before.

As part three of RA.1000, Ernestus has kindly supplied his first studio DJ mix. As you might expect, it's technically immaculate, but more than that, it feels like a substantial and generous conduit to one of the world's most vital genres.

Amapiano remains underexplored in music media. Publications like our own are still learning to keep pace with the South African sound's global pull, animating millions across the globe. 

You'll hear the range and richness of the genre across the near two-hour mix, from the gothic, percussive stomp of Caltetonic's "Bambela"  to the devotional glow of GemValleyMusiq's "Something Spiritual."

Through all of this, Ernestus has remained understated. He lets the music speak for him, with a quiet honesty that lies in decades of opening doors—creating the conditions for new sounds and scenes to flourish and carry the culture forward.

For those who follow the ever-shifting contours of underground electronic music, few names resonate with as much assured vision as Yulia Niko. Having methodically teased the soundscape of her forthcoming compilation over the past months, she now unveils ‘Body Language Vol. 26’, a record that stands as both a statement of intent and an act of refined curation. Out now via Get Physical Music, the compilation maps an evolving terrain where emotion, texture and rhythm converge with an elegant restraint rarely achieved in club music today.

Launched in 2005 by Berlin-based label Get Physical Music, the Body Language series has become one of dance music's most essential and enduring mix compilation series. Each edition serves as a curated journey, blending exclusive tracks and remixes that push the boundaries of house and techno. With contributions from luminaries like Booka Shade, WhoMadeWho and andhim, the series has consistently showcased a commitment to innovation and musical depth, influencing both DJs and listeners worldwide. Now, with Vol. 26, Yulia Niko continues this tradition, offering a fresh perspective while honoring the series' rich legacy.

The project unfolds over eleven tracks, as she unveils a deftly balanced selection that plays like a nuanced narrative. It moves from the effervescent, sun-warmed piano house of ‘So In Love With You’, through to the nocturnal depths of ‘Bad Habits’ – a reverent yet freshly dark reimagination of Jenny Burton’s ’85 anthem, co-produced with Alfonso Muchacho – before arriving at the skeletal, hypnotic minimalism of ‘Just Just’; a deft reworking of a Rework classic.

Central to the compilation’s identity is the never-before-heard ‘Takina’, a collaboration with Alexey Union and Kinky Sound that crystallizes the collection’s ethos. Here, the trio build a layered soundscape that is at once muscular and atmospheric, weaving taut grooves with shimmering melodic detail and careful injections of ethnic instrumentation that add an organic, textured edge. ‘Takina’ is a moment of clarity - a track where the dancefloor’s kinetic energy is distilled through a lens of emotional depth and technical sophistication. It is a track that doesn’t shout but commands attention, embodying the subtle power that runs throughout the compilation.

Elsewhere, the album serves as a showcase for Yulia’s dexterity as both producer and remixer, taking on material from the likes of Helsloot, Calussa & Malone and Chelonis R. A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari.
