October’s Get Physical radio show sees Cologne’s Minoas Cirillo step up to provide the latest edition of the mix show. Minoas recently released the superb ‘Love Yourself’ alongside Timothée Toussaint on our very own label and that track rightly kicks off this superb selection. 

The mix sees a blend of names, new and old, with gems from scene legend DJ Pierre, remixed by Djebali and our very own DJ T., alongside Simon Sheldon and Loew. Kate Simko drops the excellent ’The Echo’, Bruce Loko is back with ‘Do it Right’ and Leon Revol’s ‘Acid is Rolling’ is a standout moment. Minoas returns alongside David Hastert for the stellar ‘Break Silent’ and the mix is closed out with a rousing Dance Spirit remix of Dakar.

For Minoas, music was never a choice it was in his blood. Raised on a steady diet of soul and jazz, thanks to his mother’s sharp ear, he was immersed in rhythm before he even knew what it meant. At just five years old, she threw him into a choir of twenty women, all older, all moving, all feeling the music. That’s where it started the groove, the instinct, the understanding that music wasn’t just something you hear, it’s something you live.

Fast forward, and Minoas wasn’t just absorbing sound; he was shaping it. At the renowned Folkwang Musikschule in Essen, he spent a year playing in a band, exploring the depths of sound through singing and production. It was more than just making music it was about pushing boundaries, exchanging ideas, and refining his craft. But staying put was never the plan. With an insatiable drive to evolve, he set his sights on Cologne a city pulsing with underground energy, where he could carve out his own sonic identity.

Now, Minoas Cirillo is a name that carries weight in the electronic music scene. His distinct sound deep, rhythmic, and hypnotic has made him a staple in Cologne’s most legendary venues, from the raw energy of Odonien to the intimate vibe of Reineke Fuchs. His selections are instinctive, his sets immersive, his ability to read a crowd razor-sharp. Recording ... nope ...

It didn’t take long for the heavyweights to take notice. With support from industry giants like Solomun, Adriatique, David Hasert, and the Keinemusik Crew, Minoas has taken his sound beyond Cologne, bringing his signature energy to dance floors from Hossegor to Liege to Brussels, to Lisbon, London and to Berlin.

From a kid immersed in the grooves of jazz and blues to a DJ, producer, and undoubtedly a Singer making waves in the global electronic scene, Minoas Cirillo is all about evolution bridging the old with the new, the raw with the refined, and always staying true to the music.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2025 and beyond.
