With the season well underway, Get Physical is hitting the ground running with the 18th edition of Full Body Workout. If case you’ve been living under a rock the last decade, Full Body Workout aims to shine a spotlight on some of the hottest rising and established talent for their take on where the scene is now, and where it might be headed. So finding tracks by visionaries like Pezzner, NIBC and Nils Hoffman shouldn’t come as a surprise. The compilation opens with a floor-moving tech-house groove from Supernova to set everything into motion. Quickly following is Pezzner with ‘Julie’, a small shift down in energy initially, only to rise to peak time levels over the course of the track. Eagles & Butterflies then shakes down the floor with a percussion driven beauty, ‘Awakening’. Nils Hoffman up next. The young German producer delivers a stunning track full of bass swells and calls it ‘Storms’. Hold out for the elegant piano lines in the break, a brilliant contrast to the dark and heavy bass surrounding it. Now we’ve reached the halfway point, and we don’t want to spoil the surprises to come from the likes of NIBC, Kevin Yost (who’s skillfully pulled of the continuous mix here as well), Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki, P41, Hawie and Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. Sutja Gutierrez.

2014 was a definitely a huge year for dance music, with many up and coming artists being thrown into the lifestyle of hectic partying and relentless touring schedules. This also means that those who exploded onto the scene prior are no longer the new kids on the block. A few years is a long time in the life of a DJ, and the first few years are often the maddest.

The Adana Twins are a perfect example of one of these artists, having emerged onto the scene in 2012 with releases such as ‘Everyday’ and ‘Strange’, from the off it was clear that they had everybody’s undivided attention.' (Pulse Radio)

With DJ names like Take It Easy and Friso, it’s probably to be presumed that German duo Adana Twins don’t take themselves too seriously. That tongue in cheek attitude could be heard on their first productions and remixes. 

It’s now almost almost three years later and the Twins' music vision is constantly developing.

After their highly anticipated release ’Drive feat. Khan’ from 2014 the 2 boys from Hamburg are finally back on Exploited. 'Bleeding‘ features vocal snippets from LA based Human Life. This anthem has been causing massive feedback in their DJ-Sets so far. We hope you like it too.

Junior C is a very versatile artist, who solid his career in three columns: Technique, Feeling and Crowd-Reading; Important skills that added to his strong musical taste make him able to adapt his sets to many dance-floors, from underground to mainstream without loosing his musical identity. As a producer, got a lot f attention by his latest tracks Relax and Sweet Acid Talk released in Impact Records, produced in partnership with Wehbba and Propulse. Both tracks in just a couple of weeks hit the top 20 in tech-house at Beatport.com receiving compliments from: Sven Vath, 2000 and One, Karotte, Hector Couto, Joseph Capriati and many more; afterwards Sweet Acid Talk was the best seller of Ibiza Underground 2013 released by Toolroom Records. In this EP he has worked with D.O.C. label mastermind Gui Boratto, their new EP sports music for the dance floor, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. It's been 10 years since their last release on 20/20 Vision, but it is with great excitement that we welcome Spirit Catcher back to the label with their aptly named Blast From The Past EP!

As one of the corner stones of 20/20, their early singles and album are legendary label artefacts and these guys were total pioneers of the cosmic, disco infused house sound which then became prominent in following years.

Blast From The Past has been getting heavy rotation in Ralph Lawson's sets over the summer and so we're really glad to finally see it reach the light of day. This one is a trip into hyperspace with cosmic synth pulses leading the way before a killer bass line takes you track straight to planet Spirit Catcher!

On the flip Closer takes the trip further with more expert bass hooks being joined by vox pads and otherwordly fx. The EP is finished off with Routing Madness, a homeage to the duos love for analogue studio gear which you can hear in the intricate synth patterns which pop and weave through the tracks duration.

The title track fires off with a round of arpeggiated synths, a recurring pattern and focal point of the entire arrangement. Decked with sharp percussion and eerie synths, “Black Walls” unfolds like a downward spiral, in a mesmerizing and grave rhythm.

Reinier Zonneveld amplifies the depth of the track, by adding trance inducing layers. With the initial arpeggiated sequence at its core, Zonneveld infuses his own style of compact techno, reworking “Black Walls” into an entirely different rendition.

The closing track, although situated in the same deep and obscure registry, complements the raw power of the first two with the help of its smooth vocals. Paired with darker vocal pads and packing the same hypnotic rhythm, “My Vision” comes off as an imaginative melodic tech exploration.

MIDAS 104 approaches Animal Picnic's 'Gravity' with a bold confidence evident in the layout of this true anthem of ethereal techno, with a hint of funk! Lastly, but not leastly, Jonas Saalbach remixes Dahu and MPathy's 'Shattered' sticking to the darkness that is, while adding minimalistic elements to make this track simultaneously sink in and pop out in the most unpredictable and astounding ways.

The 12th release on FutureForm Music welcomes John Graham aka Quivver back to the label for a brand new single. The UK born, now USA based producer made his debut on the Aussie imprint in April of 2014 with 'The Fog'. Quivver's distinctive grooves have remained a favourite with a wide range of top DJs, most notably John Digweed. He made a return to the storied DJ's Bedrock Records in July of last year with the Beatport Deep House #1 'Takin Over EP'. Now as 2016 enters its second quarter we find Quivver returning to FutureForm Music with a brand new single entitled 'Feel It' alongside remixes from Ben Coda and Marten Sundberg. 

The release begins with the original mix and finds John crafting a funky, yet driving journey. Anchored by bulbous bass stabs and a band of swing heavy rhythms, John's nose for the dance floor has never been stronger. A myriad of vocal elements begin to work their way into the mix as trails of effects reveal a smart tonal theme. With momentum growing flashes of gates and razor sharp stabs bring an electric atmosphere, while several rhythmic shifts keep the groove locked. Drifting tones highlight a stripped down second act, building just enough tension to deliver a heady drop and exhilarating finale. Another sure-fire dance floor bomb from Quivver. 

The first interpretation of 'Feel It' is provided by Ben Coda who is making his debut on FutureForm Music. As a nearly 10 year electronic music veteran, the UK artist has appeared on a host of storied imprints including Baroque Records and Flow Records. His recent collaborative project 'Nanoplex' enjoyed a nearly one month long stay in Beatport's progressive house charts, and he's delivered an excellent interpretation of 'Feel It' here. With a galloping, psychedelic inspired groove and pristine design qualities it doesn't take long to get fully immersed in this one. Rough bass stabs carve out some incredible hooks while phasing vocals and a trail of deadly effects further tantalize the senses. A subtle acid line highlights a second act and precedes a short, well executed break which is set for dance floor destruction. Huge remix from Ben.

The second and final interpretation of 'Feel It' is provided by Marten Sundberg who is also making his FutureForm Music debut. The German artist has found a home on Kompakt, Chapter 24 and Manual Music. No stranger to large remix projects Marten has given his distinctive touch to Gus Gus 'Airwaves' and now delivers an outstanding interpretation of Quivver's 'Feel It'. With a fresh and contemporary approach the German artist has reworked the bass stabs into a state of wonky, rhythmic brilliance. The vocals, while reprocessed, play a large role in the narrative carrying the track on melancholic journey, with indistinct melodies and wispy designs taking you home. Excellent remix from Marten which rounds out a release full of variety and talent from FutureForm Music. Don't miss it.

A leading light at the forefront of the new wave of British house music, northern star Richy Ahmed returns to his home label Hot Creations with a monumental two-track release entitled ‘So Good’.

Richy Ahmed has been riding at breaking speed since his debut EP ‘The Drums’ dropped on Hot Creations in 2013, crowned as Pete Tong’s ‘Essential New Tune’ and receiving a wealth of support worldwide. The following year he followed up with his ‘Sneaky Acid’ EP as the 50th release on Hot Creations and made his Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’ debut. Since then he has spread his wings producing releases for the likes of Circus and Strictly Rhythm and remixes for Hotflush, Suara and Truesoul to name a few. The talented producer is now back on Hot Creations and about to drop one of his best to date.

His first release for 2016, it features two house jams both with a different style. 'So Good' is a perfect summer groover and. 'Ruff N Raw', as the name describes, is quite a tough house banger. Both have been causing serious damage!
Aside from producing, Richy is an integral member of the Hot Creations crew, acting as both A&R and being one of the main residents and curators of the line ups for Paradise at DC10. He also enjoys an extensive touring schedule playing all over the world at hotspots such as Panorama Bar and fabric. Now in 2016, there are no signs of slowing down with the launch of his 'FourThirtyTwo' branded parties that see him playing all night to small intimate crowds. Richy also plans to launch his record label later in the year under the same brand.

Dear friends of Connaisseur,

In our scene, a decade is a long time.

When we started the label, we didn't have a master plan, we simply wanted to put out good music we loved, of which we were sure others would love it as well. The way Connaisseur subsequently grew came naturally. If you are music lovers like we are, current musical tendencies will of course always have an infuence on your sound, but basically we stayed true to ourselves and our core has always stayed the same. Yes, we love melodies, yes, we love deepness and yes, we love great emotions, but in which electronic style these are conveyed, is rather secondary. That is our leitmotif, from "Eve By Day" until today and every day to come.

For our anniversary release, we had the idea of asking for collaborations only, as we like the energy of two creative minds coming together and creating something special. Some of the chosen couples had already worked together, others had not. As a result, we now have 6 collaborations, which will be released digitally in two parts and as a selection of three tracks from the two parts on a very nice, limited vinyl.

With the season well underway, Get Physical is hitting the ground running with the 18th edition of Full Body Workout. If case you’ve been living under a rock the last decade, Full Body Workout aims to shine a spotlight on some of the hottest rising and established talent for their take on where the scene is now, and where it might be headed. So finding tracks by visionaries like Pezzner, NIBC and Nils Hoffman shouldn’t come as a surprise. The compilation opens with a floor-moving tech-house groove from Supernova to set everything into motion. Quickly following is Pezzner with ‘Julie’, a small shift down in energy initially, only to rise to peak time levels over the course of the track. Eagles & Butterflies then shakes down the floor with a percussion driven beauty, ‘Awakening’. Nils Hoffman up next. The young German producer delivers a stunning track full of bass swells and calls it ‘Storms’. Hold out for the elegant piano lines in the break, a brilliant contrast to the dark and heavy bass surrounding it. Now we’ve reached the halfway point, and we don’t want to spoil the surprises to come from the likes of NIBC, Kevin Yost (who’s skillfully pulled of the continuous mix here as well), Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki, P41, Hawie and Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. A fresh addition to the Anjunadeep stable, the highly regarded Belgian pairing of Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet, aka Spirit Catcher, make a bold entrance with the brilliant "Black Pitch EP". 

Having graced seminal labels 2020Vision, Moodmusic and Freerange over their 10 year career, Spirit Catcher have continued to push a deep, funk-informed groove. Incorporating melodic 80s vibes and modern electronic influences, the "Black Pitch EP" showcases their dynamic sound at its finest. 

Setting the tone perfectly, title track "Black Pitch" comes straight out of the blocks with a dark, immersive baseline, before delicate melodies and rising pads combine for a swirling crescendo - tied together with an infectious vocal hook. 

With hallmarks of a classic house track, "Vintage Point" teases a rising techno-influenced groove and builds to a discordant climax.

Taking things deeper still,  "Miss U Right Now" rounds off the EP. Crisp percussion and a rolling groove lay the foundation for a slow burning jam, complete with hypnotic bass stabs and another spoken word refrain.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari.
