Roland Leesker makes another essential outing on Get Physical with new single 'No Way Out.' Landing on vinyl and digital, it comes with remixes from Detroit heroes Scan 7 and the multi-faceted Francesco Tristano. 

Leesker most recently appeared on the mighty Get Physical with his collaborative Roland Clark release ‘WTF!’ last summer and with his superb cover of ‘Crazy’ towards the close of the year. Now he is back with what could be his most significant release to date, a record co-produced with Neil Barber at Hot Kitchen Studios in Berlin. 

'No Way Out' is a classically informed house tune with jacking drums and warm, rich basslines. An old school, Chicago-style male vocal brings a sense of edginess while twitchy synths and smooth chords are sure to get hands in the air. 

Motor City collective Scan 7 is a perfect choice to remix. They bring all the fearlessness, electronic soul, and staunchly underground sounds that have made them scene icons for 20 years. Their superb remix is deep and dynamic. Synth strings bring a sense of soul and serenity, glossy pads layer in human emotions, and the drums brim with vitality. 

Francesco Tristano is a pianist and composer who always brings elegance to his music. He draws on a classical and jazz understanding to cook up experimental electronic music for the likes of InFine, Deutsche Grammophon and Sony Classical. He flips the track into a seductive piece of minimalism. The scuffed hi-hats, broken drums, and louche chords add up to a graceful, floating rhythm. It suspends you in mid-air as a female voice whispers and giggles in your ear with a playful sense of charm. 

The 'No Way Out' package is a masterclass in house music that joins authentic roots with fresh future styles.

La Collectif presents Oh See w/ SOTO - 07.09.21

GPU Panic serves up the fantastic final taster EP from the Detroit Gets Physical compilation, which will be released in October. 

GPU Panic is Lisbon's Tomé Ribeiro, a graduate of Montreal's 2016 RMBA and producer of forward-thinking electronic sounds. He is an established live artist who seamlessly mixes his piano and synth playing skills at the likes of the Neopop Festival. He has released on Discotexas and is a founding member of the Portuguese band Salto. 

The hard-hitting drums and wiry electronics of 'Oh Really' open up in a futuristic fashion. Sleek synths weave in and out to make for a beautiful techno sound that is both emotive and physical. The sublime 'Closer' is a scintillating track with a unique techno style and many layers of evocative synths that race to the heavens and bring constant movement and theatre. This lush trio of tracks closes with the punchy, high-speed drum programming of 'Getting Time' which is underpinned by grinding bass. The keys and chords are bright and kaleidoscopic and rain down as if being generated by AI. 

The Wrong Club is another irresistible EP of authentic house music.

With his new EP, Alex Krüger aka Tigerskin continues his journey through wild, versatile and groovy Caribbean moods and beyond pure club functionality. Pink Zebra and Melancoholic both transport proper island vibes with a wink yet are still undoubtful Tigerskin trademark productions. Hirokos Riddim is a wet-sounding homage to the ‘Sleng Teng Riddim,’ a preset groove found in a certain trashy Japanese keyboard of the early 80s that accidentally lead to the invention of Dancehall Music by King Jammy and Wayne Smith in the mid 80s. The EP closes with the majestic rock-ish 33 Travellers, a tune based on a groove of another model of japanese trash keyboards that Alex distorted and recorded through grannies old tube radio when he was a teenager. Positive vibes for y'all! 

All tracks mixed by Stefan Janson and mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne.

It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums.
