Entering 2021's fourth quarter in style, Roger Martinez's Higher States welcomes Roberto Caceres & Jose Tabarez to the label for their debut single. Based in Budapest, Hungarian artist Roberto Caceres was a DJ first, playing at events all across his country and abroad, performing in Austria, Germany, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and the Ukraine. Although still early on in his evolution as a producer, Roberto's progressive sounds have already found a home on Consapevole Recordings and Eternal Beats. Also hailing from Hungary but now based in the UK, Jose Tabarez has been a staple of the progressive house scene for the better part of a decade. The Birmingham resident has racked up nearly two hundred discography credits, highlighted by releases on 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection, Clubsonica Records, Soundteller and Stellar Fountain. Now collaborating for the first time, Roberto and Jose present their much-anticipated Higher States debut 'SyMaLiMi', alongside a remix from RIGOONI.

Although 'SyMaLiMi' marks their first joint production it's clear the creative synergy between Roberto and Jose is strong. The Hungarian duo marry an amalgamation of dreamy soundscapes and buoyant rhythms over a rich, well contoured groove and flurries of exotic percussion. As the main break takes shape a more distinct and supremely emotive theme emerges, as colourful fragments and childlike vocal elements converge for an impassioned blend of momentous audio. A perfect prelude to a groove-centric drop and reflective, key changing finale that's destined to leave long lasting memories on the dance floor.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'SyMaLiMi' is RIGOONI. Hailing from São Paulo, Vinícius Souza aka RIGOONI has been rising out of Brazil's electronic music underground. An appearance on Nick Warren's Balance compilation in 2019 set the course for what has been a two-year creative swell. UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Proton's Particles and meanwhile have all served as landing spots for the talented Brazilian. Having made his Higher States debut in October of 2020 with his 'When Midnight Comes' single, RIGOONI now returns to the label with a gorgeous rendition of 'SyMaLiMi'. Beginning with warm beats and effervescent percussion, it's the pulsating nature of the groove which becomes instantly compelling. Driving, chunky and full of great character, it anchors what is an emotive slice of progressive house. Emerging melodies and nostalgic chord changes marry soulful instrumentation and youthful fragments across the first act, before a break of glowing overlays and whimsical effects spearhead a classy drop and stirring finale. A touching interpretation from the Brazilian artist, which rounds out a memorable Higher States debut for Roberto Caceres & Jose Tabarez.

The Tuba Twooz duo makes a welcome debut on Get Physical Music with a two-tracker that shows off their rich house sounds. 

Tuba Twooz is a live electronic project based between Moscow and Milan. They have established themselves with a nuanced house sound and electric DJ sets all over Europe. They have appeared on respected labels like Sol Selectas, The SoundGarden and Bar 25/Sirin and continue their fine form with this debut for Get Physical. 

The enchanting 'This Generation' opens up with a quiet sense of artistry. The deep house grooves are embellished with shimmering chords and whispered vocals that draw you in close. Carefully layered shakers, hits and muted melodies add to the richness of this most tender tune. 'People' is a more unhinged affair. It rides up and down a lumpy groove with sweeping chords and diving bass bringing real dynamism. This time the vocals are treated and twisted into wordless sounds and help add to the trippy nature of the groove. 

‘This Generation EP’ continues to mark out Tuba Twooz and their singular take on house music.

BiGz returns to the label delivering a dreamy re-interpretation full of warmth, layering delicate melodies and ethereal soundscapes to elevate the track into a beautifully immersive experience. Adding a different dimension, fellow Argentines Francisco Basso and Deejaguar join the MWE family and inject more drive and energy, crafting remixes that lean more onto the dancefloor with powerful rhythms while keeping the emotional core intact. The Others is a release that strikes a balance between introspection and movement, fitting perfectly in both late-night DJ sets and sun-soaked beachside moments.

Steve Sibra is no newcomer to the French electronic music scene. Active since 1999, he has already released several albums and around forty EPs. 
Originally from Paris but now based in Montpellier in the south of France, Steve is a radio man. For many years, he hosted Laboratoire Sonore on Montpellier 91 FM, where he welcomed the cream of international artists to his show. 

Steve joined the Brique Rouge team in 2022 and, in just a few releases, has risen to become one of the core artists shaping the label's sound. He brings his inimitable touch of melancholic deep techno and melodic, cinematic soft house, sometimes infusing it with a strong electro influence and a few experimental touches. The quality of his productions having won over everyone who listened to them, it was only natural to (finally) offer an album that allows listeners to enter Steve's dancefloor universe.  

And what an album! With 21 tracks, it's more than an adventure, it's a huge sonic trip that draws you in from the very first track and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, vibrations, and sensations that doesn't let go until the very last track. It's a coherent universe, where every note is weighed for a minimalist approach to a melodious groove. 

Sometimes leaning towards “sunset music,” sometimes towards a slightly darker melancholy, Telepath Voodoo leaves no one indifferent, and each listen brings its own set of details and surprises.  So listen to it loud, listen to it on headphones, listen to it while dancing or meditating, but let yourself be carried away on this long journey that Steve Sibra offers you.  Undoubtedly one of the most important French House and Electronic artists of the moment.

Created in 1999 by David Duriez, the independent French label Brique Rouge continues to promote the electronic sound that David has always believed in and defended. Far from the formatting and excessive vulgarity of the current electronic scene, the label promotes an eclectic electronic sound that remains rooted in the underground and, above all, in a clubbing vibe.  In general, the artists on the team are given carte blanche, and it is above all the spirit that counts. The label does not seek success; it is a success. The success of being able to release music without compromise. With one release per week on platforms since 2020, the label (and its divisions RZ Muzik & Obliqu3) is seen as a key player in the French underground electronic scene due to its activism.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2025 and beyond.
