Priori (@priori-ties) has always explored a wide range of techno from dense and introspective to more joyous, often against the backdrop of technological possibilities. He hails from Canada and has been prolific since first emerging with two full-lengths to his name on his own NAFF label. They pair dubby undercurrents with crystalline melodies and contain the sort of unresolved tensions that keep you locked in for the ride. This weekend he plays Dekmantel Naarm 2024 but first has served up this new mi for us.

Priori says this is the first dance mix he's done in a long time, adding "It's an hour and a half of fresh rhythms and rave sounds that I recorded while on tour in Australia. It features a few tracks I have been playing a lot lately and some forthcoming bits by myself and some friends." In just over 90 minutes he works through a rollercoaster of deep techno rhythms that are firmly focused on the future and flow as fluidly as water.

This year I was lucky enough to play on the truly iconic IICON stage in Block9 at Glastonbury Festival so decided to bring a slice of it to this mix – “One Hour Of IICON” – for those asking for a recording 💘

I was opening the stage for the night for 2.5 hours – including soundtracking the sun setting - so it’s been an absolute mission to re-record some of that slow build set into <60 minutes. As always this mix prioritises new music from underground producers but also showed respect to the originators with a couple classics 🎖️ I hope you enjoy what’s in here!

GM Guest Mix #126 comes from @BasicRhythm of @planetmurecords, the recording alias of Anthoney Hart who also records under the name East Man. He grew up on the boundary of East London and Essex, playing drum and bass on pirate radio in the mid nineties, most notably Rude FM. As Basic Rhythm, Hart draws more directly upon his pirate radio years, while still pushing forward into new territories to emerge with more overtly dancefloor material.
