Cuttin' Headz continues to define the contemporary house landscape with another superb EP, this time from Toman. The Dutchman has been hugely prolific since breaking through and his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets like No Art, Moscow & Eastenderz. 

This fresh new EP opens with Madrugada, a tightly coiled bit of tech funk. The kicking drums and razor sharp hi hats are detailed with cool female vocal stabs, whirring effects and dramatic fills that really make the track pop. Better Is Weather is a much deeper tune but one that still packs a punch. The super balmy pads bring a nice summery feel to the breezy late night grooves and hints of garage skip. 

All in all, another incredible standout EP from all involved.

'The Small Miracle' This is a four track composition from the artist Gavinco. The collection of tracks varies from deep house four by four rhythms to two-step breaks with the incorporation of the electronica genre.  

The beautiful Artwork is (ca. 1900) of original designs (ca. 1771) by Itō Jakuchū (1716–1800), a Japanese painter of the mid-Edo period notable for his striking modern aesthetic. Born in Kyoto, Jakuchū was strongly influenced by Zen Buddhist ideals throughout his life and his name is taken from the Tao Te Ching and means "like the void". He was considered a koji (a lay brother) and he named his studio Shin'en-kan, which translates as "Villa of the Detached Heart [or Mind])", a phrase included in a poem by the ancient Chinese poet Tao Qian.

Revealed in 2014 by leading French independant festivals Astropolis and the Transmusicales, Blutch has risen to the rank of up-and-comer producer, thanks to numerous releases on Astropolis Records, Nowadays, Délicieuse Musique, Barbecue and Dance Around 88, allowing him to collaborate with legends, such as US house pioneer Terrence Parker or Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, and the cream of contemporary producers: Lauer, Red Rack’em, Strip Steve, Mézigue or Maxime Dangles. From Laurent Garnier to Tom Trago, Blutch has received the support of the greatest artists, and the backing of media such as XLR8R, Resident Advisor, Ransom Note, Groove and Faze.

After promising beginnings between hip hop and abstract that have panicked the stream platforms, feverish and wandering house vinyls with soulful influences, contemporary and sunny disco beats, Blutch refines his production work with a thousand textures and sharpens a singular trademark between electronica, breakbeat and house, following in the footsteps of Rone, Bicep or James Holden. He unveiled the first outlines of this new identity on Astropolis Records with ‘La Cité des Etoiles’ EP in 2020, announcing the beginning of a new and long adventure on the label, which welcomes his debut album Jan.28, 2022, ‘Terre Promise’. A tribute to his native Brittany and a sonic turning point revealing a suave and generous electronic music in weightlessness between electronica, IDM, breakbeat, UKG and slow house. 

The first three singles ‘Cobalan’, ‘River’ and ‘Poplar’ announce a very successful first exercise of the long-format, accompanied by remixes from the cream of the French and European electronic scene: Jennifer Cardini & Damon Jee, Mézigue, Lauer, Maud Geffray, Madben, Malcolm.

Terre Promise is an album that will take on its full dimension on stage with a fabulous live AV, in collaboration with the motion designer Romain Navier who accompanies it with a captivating visual fable, a total immersion between two worlds, real and dreamlike, mixing meditative landscapes and abstract dreams. A dreamy and luminous scenography that perfectly illustrates Blutch’s universe.

Riding in with the power to deliver sunshine to world’s rainiest open-air events, Monkey Safari brings rays of light to whatever dance floors they cast their shimmering spell on. 

The German brothers have released on Get Physical numerous times over the years, but not since 2020's 'Palomar.' Their new single 'Ceremony' shows how their sound has evolved since then and comes after more than a decade of EPs and LPs on their own Hommage label as well as the likes of Anjunadeep and Spectrum. What defines the music of Lars Rühlemann and Sven Fröhlich - not least their 2021 album ‘Love Will Set U Free’ - is a curiousness and left-of-centre character that always embellishes each groove. That is once again the case here.

The sublime 'Ceremony' is seven minutes of deep but exotic house music. Expressive vocal wails drift in and out to spiritual effect while the warm beats roll deep. Shakers, lush pads and tropical melodies all bring the detail that makes this another standout cut.

With 'Ceremony,' Monkey Safari has already started to build anticipation for Body Language Vol. 24.

Grammy nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Steven Weston was brought up in Portsmouth, learning to play the organ as a kid, but an early obsession with electronic music soon had him trading it in for a set of turntables. At 18, he left for Spain, where he became a resident DJ on the Murcia coast. 

He’s been on the move ever since, touring the world playing keyboard for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko and UNKLE. He was also the first and lead bass player in The KLE side project Badger Kull and cut his teeth as an engineer at Metropolis and Strongroom studios in London, working many years with the bands Chronixx & Rudimental at their studio Major Toms in Hoxton.

His inaugural dance music release came in early 2021 with a remix of Catch Me When I Fall from the Ronin I mixtape, which saw great support from John Digweed. 

After launching his own imprint Blank Dust with two EPs, he went on to release on Sasha’s celebrated Last Night On Earth with ‘Liquid followed by his Anjunadeep debut March 31st with the first single from his forthcoming After the Flow EP, entitled ‘Like I Used To’, featuring vocals from British singer-songwriter Låpsley.

Stelios Vassiloudis is a multifaceted composer, producer and DJ hailing from Athens, Greece. Active in the electronic music since the early 2000s, he has cultivated a sound of his own - one that reflects his rich and diverse musical background, transcending the dance floor via an emotional narrative of complex soundscapes, intricate harmonies and hypnotic rhythms.

Classically trained, with a Bachelor’s degree in acoustical engineering and a Master’s degree in composition and arrangement, Stelios carved his path in electronic music by traversing the globe as a DJ and live performer - performing at intimate underground clubs in Beirut, festivals in Miami, afterhours in Tokyo, beaches in Goa and mega clubs in Argentina. His studio prowess and coveted productions cemented his reputation as a versatile and acclaimed artist, as he developed a formidable discography on esteemed labels such as Bedrock, Poker Flat, Ovum, Constant Sound, Darkroom Dubs and Balance, among others.

Now, entering a new phase of his career, Stelios prepares to unveil his sophomore album, a collection of works that marks a departure from the narrow confines of club music and represents the essence of what he’s all about – an album that merges the limitless possibilities of electronic music, his formidable training in composition and his diverse influences. Ten years on from the release of his debut LP, his detail-oriented offerings remain incomprehensibly thought-provoking and thorough. Luca Vera (The Dub Records), Italian DJ and producer, comes to life in the late seventies in a small city between Rome and Naples. He starts tasting music during his childhood in the eighties and quickly acquires a strong passion for the Italian disco. He reaches his musical maturity during the nineties with the explosion of house music for which he starts living. That love becomes so strong that it makes him want to experience the thrill of the decks. This passion lives and persists for over twenty years now and maintains his mood in a continuum of emotions that lead him to face every experience as if it was his first time.

After years on stage, he plunges into the world of production in order to approach music in a more profound way which pushes him always to experiment and try something new that differentiates his sonority. The desire to pursue novelty and uniqueness and to search for creation in hidden corners of music completes his growth and musical maturity, making him a complete artist with proper knowledge that he skillfully applies to face the reality of this world as a veteran while still keeping the desire for discovery of a child.

PREMIERE: Harrison BDP - Sweet Dreams [Haŵs]

Machinegewehr is the alter ego of Silas Schletterer. He is a Rotterdam-based contemporary artist who makes music in his spare time. His musical path started when he became the singer in his first Punk Rock band “No Idea” (which later changed into “Nice Guy Eddie”) at the age of 15. Later, he played bass guitar in several other bands like H.O.T.T. and Viper Cobra. Around the year 2000, he started making music on his computer using Fruity Loops. Inspired by artists like Ladytron, Adult, Vitalic, Miss Kittin and The Hacker, this was a perfect cross over to electronic music.

Through the years the breadth of his musical interest grew bigger. Taking his music more serious step by step, he kept developing his sound. In 2008 he released a 6-track CD named “Part of the test”, followed up by “The Destroyer” in 2009. Both mini albums with a mix of electro(rock) bangers and Italo influenced tracks, some containing samples from 80’s movies /documentaries and guitar, bass and vocals by himself.

In 2013 Machinegewehr was finally picked up by the vital Dutch label Bordello a Parigi. “Abhinanda”, a track with vocals by Gees Voorhees, was his first 12-inch release on Bordello, along with a remix of “Abhinanda” by Elitechnique and a rework by A Visitor From Another Meaning (Alden Tyrell) with vocals by Italo legend Fred Ventura. The EP was described by some critics as a perfect debut release, while DJ Mag wrote: “A brilliant update of ’80s Italo, with its combination of foreboding pulses, spine-tingling synth melodies and a frost Euro vixen delivering unforgettable lines like ‘the afterglow is burning in my eyes'”. “Carradine”, his second release on Bordello (with the album cover art done by Silas himself), was also well received and named a perfect successor.

Five more EP’s followed since then: The Unforgiven, 2015 (Electronic Emergencies), Venom, 2017 (Nocta Numerica), The Cordyceps, 2017 (Bordello a Parigi), Work it (with Ayden Vice), 2018 (Musique Exotique) and Kurayami, 2019 (Electronic Emergencies). Lots of remixes by Machinegewehr were also released by labels like Bordello, Nein Records, Esthétique, Electronic Emergencies and Correspondant Music. Right now, “Machine” is working on a new project with Manni Blitzer. Several remixes will also come out this year and a new solo EP is expected in late 2020.

ELIZEN THE EMPEROR started organising parties at about the same time as she was able to sneak out of her parents' house undetected at night, at the age of 16.
But she found her "real" orga-place a few years ago at "Lotenheim”. She is more than happy to realise some of her dreams with the other marvelous people there and especially enjoys to get involved politically.
Only a year ago she started to appear behind the decks, thanks to the mere availability of CDJ's. However, as a pianist she has always had a soft spot for making music, so it was all just a matter of time. She is absolutely happy to finally be able to send her thousands of playlists and music spleens into the big wide world in a somewhat controlled way...
